A gray day that demanded a complex lavender: how could I refuse?

Today I used a brush with the same knot as yesterday to check wich handle I prefer: I liked the other handle better!
Not an epic shave, but great nonetheless.

Oh my God this was a Grand Freeze which I enjoyed so much - Rod’s mentholated pre shave soap put the wheels in motion, his Glacial Obsidian soap filled the bathroom with such a lovely anise scent, the lather was so rich as well as mega slick, and the menthol sensation exploded on my face big time. The Prep and the Frosted Spearmint aftershave (thanks so much Fernando!) were a perfect frigid finish. I don’t think I could have gotten a better shave from my barber!

PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil

As yes....Obsidian...the first of the glacials I saw that you used. I would eventually see how much you love the cold stuff.

 

SE SOTD, Thur, April 29th 2021

Razor: Valet Autostrop c1, Canadian variant- Mfg 1920's, modified gap from .011 to .007 to smooth the razor out, easy shave today. Not much to shave because of excellent shave yesterday.
Blade: Modified Gem SS PTFE (5) excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely & predictable.
Soap: Tabac, nice mild flowery scent, great lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Atlantis synthetic- excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great backbone for scrub + great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG +ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Nivea refreshing aftershave + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = Excellent shave with my Valet Autostrop C1 with a Gem coated blade.

Not the most elegant or extravagant, but it did the job, and I had a nice "bite" after the shave.
