  1. Most razors are carbon steel and subject to rust. A light coat of oil is a good preventative for a stored tool. Some folks lube them after every use.

  2. I heard you can get grits at Home Depot there.

  4. That's because your SR technique is rock solid, Joe. :) Thanks for the kind words. We're doing great, and I hope you are also.

We have a few more loose ends to prepare for our trip. We'll be in and out of the clinic over the course of a week. We also have some time set aside to explore and meet with friends. We expect to receive confirmation of what we already believe is great news, and we're actually looking forward to the trip.

We're down to one car for now, and I had it serviced today. It's a 2013 model with 29K miles. It's not a Ford, so it has some life left in it @Hembree. Now I need to replace the tires because the sidewalls are cracking. In my younger days, I would have pushed it. These days, however, I'll replace the tires due to safety considerations. It's a good thing I'm on a shaving NB. :) I also picked up some car detailing supplies, and I'm going to attempt to spiff it up.

The volunteers have returned to our local children's hospital, and I hope to return sometime later this summer. It will be awhile longer for Kathy. We can't wait to be back with our sweet kids.
  5. Beautiful all around Joe. Congratulations

  6. Thanks so much Danny! Teenagers....if only there was a 'eventually I'll grow out of it' fast forward button on their forehead! ;)

That's very cool Joe! I know you're going to enjoy those two for quite a long time.

  7. Thanks again Charlie! It's funny, but I need to replace one of my tires before I go to my nephew's wedding in Maryland next month. While I am at it, I need to change the oil (every 3000 miles give or take 500 miles) and add windshield wiper fluid.
I am sure you are definitely want to see the kids once again. I am sure they put a smile on your face. You will be back there once again pretty soon.

  19. Sounds awesome Charlie!

But....Don't be knockin' the FORDs. ;)

Here's a snapshot of da Beast's odometer 2 weekends ago returning from Houston. Built 6/98. For those new to the 30DC, the Beast (named by my kiddos years ago) is a 1999 F250 Super Duty, 7.3L Diesel. Original motor, paint, AC and most everything else, save for the usual wear items (batteries, tires, brakes, fluids, etc). Trannies don't count....it's had 2, and 2 rebuilds, obviously the weakest link, as it sees a LOT of stop n go Texas Traffic, towing 5-6k ~44 weekends a year.

If International's (the engine is made by International Truck) service schedule is right.....it'll get a rebuild ~600k.

Just for a reference, this is ~14 times around the earth at the equator. 13.5 of that is me driving it....I bought it used.
