2021-05-05, Wednesday Sometimes it seems someone up there likes me.... I slept like a log, this morning not too much sun and fresh air and a soaking in three of the best lavenders I've ever smelled. What's more, I'm particularly pleased with the brush: having never had a luxury one, this one seems really good and the marriage between razor and blade has given me an excellent shave: a day, so far, almost perfect. If Aishwarya Rai came to do the cleaning, this might let me remove the 'almost'! SOTD Razor: 60s Gillette Superspeed (3 shims) Blade: 50s Gillette Blue Blade (2) Cream/Soap: Barbasol Aftershave: Witch Hazel, followed by Fine Snakebite followed by Nivea Men Sensitive Aftershave Balm. Been having problems with this razor in terms of cutting hairs off my face. Got a lot of helpful tips and tricks on my thread so thank you to everyone who helped me there. The blue blade was a lot smoother today, thanks to my working on my technique, and I'm sure the razor being mild as it is has something to do with it. Wednesday morning: Stirling Mentholated Pre Shave Soap Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Schick day 3 RVT Frosty Bay Rum SS Prep ASB Pinaud Bay Rum AS Splash Although this Frosty Bay Rum soap is not as mentholated as Fernando’s Frosted Bay Rum soap it still has a decent amount of menthol in it as well as a lovely bay rum scent and awesome lather along with a good postshave feeling. The Prep always cools, soothes, and moisturizes my face so well - this is why it’s my favourite balm. The Pinaud Bay Rum stung me for a couple of seconds but then it felt cool and so soothing. Williams Wednesday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Williams Mug Soap Jayaruh #199 Synthetic Enders Speed Shaver Schick Proline B20 CWR Granddad's Blend AS The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #199 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Enders Speed Shaver with a Personna Schick Proline B20 blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Granddad's Blend AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
DE SOTD, Wed, May5th 2021 Razor: Razorock 2nd generation Lupo.72- Mfg 2021> Excellent mid range, easy to manipulate around the face, carefree shave mostly. Best performance Razorock razor consistently I own in my Den. Blade: Gillette Astra SS (4) excellent blade, Sharp & smooth with good longevity. Soap: Razorock XXX, nice refreshing clean scent + excellent lather qualities. Brush: Yaqi 26mm Red Zebra , Excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrubber + great lather painter. Pre shave: Brush wash the whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave: Razorock XXX with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm. Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper= Excellent shave with my RR Lupo.72 + a Gillette Astra SS blade Have some great shaves! Stay & think safe in these times!
