  2. Thanks Danny! I'm a sucker for brass razors. Almost as much as Clint is for Clubman. :D
Hope all is well with you.
  3. Thank you, Clint! Either the razor or brush look great paired with anything. Come to think of it, I don't know if the Brassbird has been paired with "The Weapon" brush yet...

Colibri (Hummingbird) safety razor w/ 1.10mm base plate.
    Astra SP (fresh)
Delrin brush handle with Dscosmetics synthetic knot.
    Soap Commander Honor shave soap.
    Royal Copenhagen cologne

Awesome lather this morning courtesy of Soap Commander. I just love the barbershop scent.

I brought out the 1.10mm plate in the Colibri this morning which really made a difference. I really don't know how to describe this plate other than smooth with just a hint of blade feel. It is just a solid feeling razor. I think we are bonding. ;) Three drama free passes and the baby barely escaped this morning. I'm sure a little more time with this plate and a BBS will be no problem. The alum was barely noticeable only in one area this morning.

A little witch hazel and a few squirts of the Copenhagen and this one was in the bag.

I've been window shopping on Homelike Shaving's site and an open comb plate for the Colibri is calling. The Voevoda polished handle is looking good as well. We shall see but they are hard to resist.

The computer is down at work this morning....what a way to start the day.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.
  5. I have not been able to solve that mystery.
  6. Thanks.

  7. Excellent encore shave Clint! Enjoy your day!
  8. Closed out the trifecta of Stoylin Sheep soap&Bill Neumann A.S.(Heartwood). I think the Stoylin Sheep is a year-rounder..2 passes. Two Knicks did show up, but I didn't feel pain as they developed. Just kinda snuck right through customs. A little extra Bill Neumann helped calm them down. I remembered to rinse off after today's 1st pass, whereas I forgot to do so yesterday. 0:45 to load the Sheep onto the Stoylin No-Name brush...got good lather to work with. Very Excellent this morning, due to the 2 cuts(painless as they were).

    SRS # 500

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
Brush: Shore Shave Creamsicle Swirl 24 mm White Synthetic
Lather: Loose Screw Uncomfortably Numb (3017)
    Aftershave: PAA Sangre de Drago
    Osage Rub
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

The TI gets the honors for shave number 500 as my first straight. The actual number is slightly more as I received this razor in 2001 but did not use it much until I started down this rabbit hole a little over 3.5 years ago. I have decided to change my 1508.5 Project to a 3017 for the weekdays of the month of May. Weekends will allow for some variety. Therefore, this soap should be Edmund Fitzgerald by the end of next week.

Another fabulous three pass shave. Super smooth and refreshed. I am smelling good with the assistance of the PAA Sangre de Drago, Sandalwood and Oud combination. Just a fine masculine scent. Have a great day gentlemen.

  11. Overlapping scents is the kind of thing that worries me about Phoenix AA. I know they like to add new products, but if they find that one of their "newbies" smells just like Home On The Range, which is next on my Phoenix list, I'm afraid they'll cut off the HOTR. I must admit they're pretty good about "warning" us that a particular product is on its way out soon so we'd better buy it while it's still there.

  12. I love the barbershop scent, too. I've tried different name brands that carry it. What A.S. do I use with the scent. Why, Clubman, naturally.

  15. Happy Wednesday Danny. Great looking shave. The razor looks fantastic. I have a Wolfman handle that looks like the one you pictured. It is a very cool handle to use.
  16. Thank you Joe. I have already finished 4 tax returns this morning. At this pace, I might get mine done before the deadline
  17. Gorgeous shave with some very nice gear. Take care.
  18. Great looking shave and photo Joe. I hope your week is going well
  19. She is smooth.......:)
  20. Thank you Jason. Very tough call. The CH2 is still my favorite synthetic brush. Having said that the CH3 is very similar to the CH2. The handle just feels different and I am still getting used to that. I will admit that I ordered a second CH3 Sovereign in Neon Pink. :D I have a sickness
