  1. Thank You Jason! hmm I didn't know that.

  2. Pardon my ignorance, Joseph, but why would you need the hair dryer for the blade?
    I agree, the Floating Head can be aggressive. Skin bumps and blemishes are overrated, though....

    Razor: Carbon Shaving CX-316L ++
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (1)
    Brush: Rick Montalvo mixed badger and boar
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: B&M Terror
    PAA Galactic Witch Hazel
    B&M Unscented Balm
    AS: B&M Terror

    Good morning!

    Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS.

    When I first received the Carbon Razor it came with the standard plate, which at the time was the only plate. .68 gap with positive exposure. Nice shave but not a standout. Soon after two new plates were released, the + and the ++, .88 and 1.08 gaps. As a mostly shallow angle shaver blade gaps mean next to nothing to me, it was the reduced exposure on the new plates that caught my attention. I went with the ++, which while still positive has the least exposure of the three. Put this razor right in my wheelhouse. Super smooth with just a touch of blade feel. Now among my favorite razors. I see a - plate has since been released. I don't know much of this one. Research needed to see if it makes the want list for next year.

    Have a great day!

    L'Occitane Shaving Cream - Cade
    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Star Jelly ASB
    @MrEE Evan's LE #001 w/TGN Badger
    Terre d'Hermès Parfum
    Friedr.Herder 77 Constant

    Mid morning shave after getting the bulk of the work done for the day.....very nice thick and yogurty lather from the L'Occitane shaving cream and Evan's #001 handle loaded with a super fluffy TGN silver tip badger knot. Incredible face feel from this shaving cream while on the skin, but a smidge drying once a swipe occurs, will try adding some glycerin next use. Might turn the Cade into a 1508.5 project....

    2 passes with the Friedr.Herder today, a little neck/jawline buffing at the end, nice BBS results. No issues at all on about 48 hours growth. This razor is a super audible shaver, every follicle seems to make itself known. Some skin nourishment with PAA's after shave balm, a super favorite, slight menthol feel. Finished with a wifey favorite, Terre d'Hermes.

    Mother's Day/yesterday was a skip day for me, wifey and I spent it at Scarborough Faire (matching pirate costumes). Later in the afternoon, it was BGE time with some brats and veggies. After dinner the kiddos did their thing, getting wifey some special colored cactus plants she's been wanting. Nice relaxing day, one of the first Mother's Days I've had off in many years (bike organizers always seem to schedule an event as the area motorsports facilities offer a rental discount).

    Hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!

  11. Thanks! It's why I can justify purchasing Mad Max and Artie. It's not an even wash, but it a nice fiscal offset.
    Well, not really, but it sounds good. Lol!

  20. I decided to purchase the Maggards 24 mm Timberwolf synthetic knot for the Delrin handle. I bought the silicone adhesive and bought an alum block that was 1/2 price because it was a scratch and dent item.
