A nice Tobacco Tuesday shave this morning. Some fave software for sure, but I did start out with too much water in the brush and it took me a bit to get the foaminess out of the lather. All was good in the end after some significant overloading. This Goodwill did it's usual top tier job (and doesn't look too badly with its gold overcoat from Evan, either) and I ended up smooth after 3 easy passes.
    Have a great day all!

  4. Wonderful shave and I agree that it was for the reasons you stated. Have a marvelous day Maestro!
  5. Thank you, Joe!
  6. Very nice shave Joe! Have a safe trip back.

  7. Great shave Jason! I use the brush to wet my face because it helps get rid of the excess water. I usually get a pastier load but that's ok because my face is still wet to prime the lathering process. I dip the tips in a cup of water and swirl the brush on my face. I repeat until I am satisfied with the lather.

    Gillette Nacet (1)
    Turn-N-Shave 'Party Brush'
    Mike's Natural Vetiver Shaving Soap
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Fine Green Vetiver Aftershave
    Guerlain Vetiver EdT

I recently added another Mike's soap, Vetiver, to my collection and used it this morning for the first time. Possibly subliminally enabled by 2 particular members of this thread (you know who you are), I felt confident that I'd like this one as well. Also, I didn't really have a vetiver-dominant soap in my collection, so now I have one that pairs well with the Guerlain Vetiver EdT. I love the scent and enjoyed it throughout the shave.

With just the right amount of hydration, the soap bowl lathered into an exceptionally slick, protective and shiny base for this morning's shave. Two passes provided a comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps.

    Good morning guys!

I am off again so I had some time to enjoy my shave this morning. 20210511_091311.jpg

    13/8 ArtRazor 1000 Half Hollow (5)
    Semogue OC Super Badger Brush
Stirling Coconut Lime SS and AS
    Dickinson's WH
    Whiskers: 41 hrs

This was my 5th shave with Artie and it was the best.

Everything went well for a great near BBS. Actually, I changed my mind and rate it a BBS because there was minimal invisible patches on both sides of my neck. I only needed 2 passes with very little buffing to achieve this result. There wasn't any bloodshed or any irritation. Slapped on the witch hazel and splashed on the matching aftershave to end this epic shave! I am giving Artie a rest for the rest of the week while Mad Max fills in to finish the week. Have an awesome day gentlemen!

  10. Fantastic shave Andrew! Mike's Natural Shave Soap is on my list to try out. It isn't a glamorous soap, but it's been around for over 10 years so the owners must be doing something correctly. Have a super day!
  11. A great looking shave, Barry. What is that Brut Sport Style like?
  12. Congrats on the soap, Dave. Sounds like a winner, for a few different reasons.

  20. Thank you, Joe. It is a great soap base and all of the scents I've tried have been fantastic.
What makes a soap "glamorous?" Marketing? Fancy labels?
