    Evening shave

    Omega Boar
    Fine Accoutrements bowl
    Stirling Menthol Grapefruit soap
    Focus R21 Evolution
    GSB (4)

I far prefer to shower, then shave. I’ve noticed when I do not get to shower first I’m more prone to see weepers like today. It makes an improvement in my book.

This could easily be considered one of my lowest cost setups if you don’t add in the bowl.

Stirling Grapefruit is ok, but I wanna get some of the TOBS grapefruit one day. The suds are flawless.

Omega 10098 works great as long as the generous number of black bristles doesn’t bug you.

I used the Focus R21 Evolution after some recent discussions on the Focus R28 Slim Al. This is a very user friendly tool I’d recommend to anyone looking at 1/2 DE shavettes. Or entry level edge forward shaving. It doesn’t force you to the steeper angle that the R28 does so it is prone to be a little milder. At about $14 I consider it a bargain.

GSB is my ‘go to’ shavette blade in this format. I retire them at 4 shaves, but could easily go one more. Considering that is my usual usage on DE tools, this cuts blade use in half. Not sure why it works out that way, but it is nice.

Stirling Glacial Citron is new in their lineup. It is a nice combination of citrus scents. I like it.

Great report Bill. Ive heard that the ToBS grapefruit smells like real grapefruit and not some scented additive.

Terrific shave Joe! I purchased the 24 mm Wolf Whiskers knot from Maggards to set it in Danny's Delrin handle. How do you like the knot?

Took your advice Jason and relieved the Boar of it's duties. I'll get it completely removed when I get time soon.

The Reserve base wasn't made so much to be an improvement over the Glissant base, it was made for those with hard water.

Gee, you are prepping us for your mayhem madness with this normal setup. I can't wait to see what you roll out for all of us to see Patrick. Otoh, you have been very busy.

Nice shave Bill! You didn't lose any time buying the new stuff from Stirling. I like citrus scents so Citron would be in my wheelhouse. If I may ask, what else did you get from Booneville Arkansas.

Thanks Jim for the info! Now I know if I buy B and M, then I need to get the reserve line because my water is hard.

I have hard water and never had issues lathering the Glissant base, which BTW has been replaced by the Excelsior base. As good as the Glissant base is I find the Excelsior base even better. I never had the opportunity to try the White Label.
