Correction, the Stoylin soap I meant is Glacial Electric Sheep...the Glacial Lime is of the aftershave persuasion.

A very nice shave this morning.

Recently I gave some non-working (repairable) adjustable Gillette razors to @DaltonGang and he repaid me by honing a couple of straights. A few years ago I decided (after lots of trying) that I just didn't have the patience and morning time to use a straight but I still have several razors thinking maybe in retirement I will try again.

My plan was to put the two that @DaltonGang honed in the drawer with the others but after they arrived yesterday I made up my mind to give one a go.

I also received in the mail a Schick 500 that I had purchased and I was anxious to use that as well.

I had several days growth after a busy week so there was plenty to work with. When I got all done I was clean and smooth with no nicks and no burn. I mention no burn because my previous attempts with straights often resulted in neck burn but none today.

Have a great week fellow shavers!

Another beauty of a shave this morning...the same stuff from yesterday, but with the Jayaruh#59 brush. I was glad to have the smaller brush this time to work with the Razorock puck(which isn't too big). Two small Knicks on NW Porcupine, but they were the only issues throughout the shave. Soap was too wet going on at first, thus more lather was needed, more loading. Looks and feels good down at Cactus. Nice healthy administering of Osage Rub to finish. Super Duper Excellent.

    Sunday May 16th SOTD

A refreshing Sunday shave after a hectic and busy ER shift yesterday. I guess I got a little cavalier as I gave myself a good nick below my lower lip . The Taiga is a very efficient and comfortable razor but can bite if provoked - I mean the box does have a bear on it . Oh well, an otherwise pleasant and cool 3 pass, plus touch up shave. I hope everyone enjoys their day.

    Happy Healthy Shaves all.

    Josh

Custom Gillette WW II Tech Razor
    Astra SP Blade
    Rubberset 200-2 Boar (restored) Brush
    Pinaud Clubman Shave Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel w/Egyptian Musk
    Pinaud Clubman After Shave

I always like the way WW II Techs shave, but this was different. I haven't shaved for a few days, and even with a mild blade, this was great. The handle being a bit wider and heavier really produced an excellent shave..............
