What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

What a cool and unique piece.
Some might not like it, but I love the signature in the scales.

 

Thanks Bill. I am a huge fan of his designs, both the blades and the scales, and I think this is an older blade based on the pinning instead of using a fastener.

 

That is a nice handle.

 

Orihi kamisori, unknown maker, soap was MdC rose lathered with a Keyhole 3, and a splash of D.R. Harris Pink finished up a great shave.

Just a cool, unique razor. I don’t see many vintage from Oklahoma, and the rifle barrel steel is a nice twist. The smaller length at 2 1/4” and the spike make the neck fun, but one of those to not use with more than 2 beers in your system... but 2 works.

13/16 Hishakaku 500, named after a character in the 1960s cult yakuza film and one of the best made Japanese razors that I’ve ever seen. The fit and finish is almost sword grade, and even though it’s 1/4 hollow, it’s difficult to hone because the bevels are so thin they’re difficult to see. Cream was SMN and a splash of Myrsol Agua Balsamica finished up a perfect shave.

I too, like FWE razors. Yours looks wider than 5/8. I know what the box says, but have you measured it?. It looks more like 6/8th. Inches.

I’ve been looking Bill, I know someone who has one but he’s not currently interested in selling. They show up once in a great while, but usually they’re in poor condition They also made an asymmetric folding kamisori which would be an interesting addition..

Now I did find a second Tanifuji 1000 BaBa (barber) yesterday, so there’s an upcoming pair I hope.
