This was last nights shave.. lol technically this morning as i shaved around midnight. I got home late from work and wanted to unwind and take a good shower and shave. The shave was ok. Ive been trying to work on lathering and what ive learned is that i suck at it and people are just better at it. Lol i add water and no slickness and lots of pillowy lather.. i dont add water and its thick and creamy. So im just gonna stick to whatever..

***EDIT - 1 pass + 1 search & destroy pass. I have some recent acne breakouts on my neck (not shaving related). I used an alum block to help treat the acne along with a splash of my mentholated witch hazel. I didn't feel any feedback, so the shave was perfection in efficiency. I didn't put balm on this time around to try to keep the skin dry to hopefully clear up the acne. I have that genetic curse of acne that comes and goes randomly even in my middle-aged years. The shave was a 10/10 success. Zero nicks, no irritation. The alum block don't lie.

Thursday May 20th SOTN

Well, for some reason I felt the urge to give the MMOC a run tonight. In retrospect, I probably should’ve grabbed a fresh blade (or stropped it a few times at least) as I have no idea how long it’s been in there - maybe a year . It was a pretty rough shave overall and left me concerned to go for a fourth pass so I pulled out the Parker for a quick finishing pass. We shall see if I feel overly eager to try again tomorrow with the MMOC.

I guess not EVERY shave can be ideal right???

It has been way too long, since I had the chance to post a SOTD picture - but a new soap and a new background image is certainly a great excuse to do so again

Big shout-out to Craig from Blue Devil Shaving Co. - wonderful soap, that is dead easy to lather and produces some heavanly lather (see lather pic). The scent is fresh and clear - paired with a Doug Korn brush and the BBS-1 it really can't get much better than this!

I had to change the blade from Ladas Super Stainless over to Rapira Super Stainless, because, Ladas Super Stainless couldn't mow down my thick tough stubble for a second shave and the blade died after first used.... WOW!!

Nearly ALL my sample blades are gone, looking forward to trying out the Minora Stainless soon
