Nice razor and also a rare piece! Quite fun with the connection to Eskilstunia as well. And the name Engström is not that unusual in Sweden, so he could most likely been a immigrant from Eskilstuna with no connection to Johan Engström. Today 153 People has the name Engström in Eskilstuna and 13.602 total in Sweden.

Not the same Engstrom, but it should be the same Eskilstuna, which seems to me mis-spelled on the razor?

The potential mis-spelling is interesting to me. Wondered if Hans (@lottenhem) may know if there were different variations of that spelling?
Then I start to wonder if this was just a ploy to get name and town recognition to drive sales.

 

Could also be somebody not from Eskilstuna and didn’t know how to spell it?

In the beginning the name was just Tuna, later on was a Priest named Eskil killed by Vikings and the name was changed to Eskilstuna. Tuna is the name for a big farm or estate in old Scandinavian language. I also think that the Producer stamped the razors with the text without having any connection to Eskilstuna. Most likely a Chinese, the first copy cat!

Thursday morning shave, CVH 923F. I think it is Stainless Steel in this razor, anyway it shave well and cuts like a axe (half wedge).
