Very nice shave setup and images Joseph! Thoughts and prayers sent, important work at hand, family first. Best health and recovery for your Mom, some sleep & rest for you and yours. Thanks so much Andrew! Sincerely appreciated Joe! Thank you Clint!
Joseph, thanks for the kind words, my friend. Prayers continue for you all, especially your Mom. Looks like another great shave in the books. Your detailed fraghead posts over the past few months have now got me poking around on Basenotes and Fragrantica.
Sorry about the rough shave, Myles. We have all done our 'stuck pig' impressions. Heal quickly. On my adjustables, I don't change settings between passes. I try to dial in my shave angle on a single setting rather than make adjustments between passes. I usually use the highest setting for ease of use. As long as I have a light touch, I do OK. Do you generally find changing settings helps you get a better shave?
Just for those following the illegal adventures of Max Headroom and the domed hones. Disclaimer - this is stuff I do, for me. And the only guy I needed to make happy, is just that.
SE Shave # 192 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip Blade: GEM Stainless Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts 26 mm Tuxedo Lather: WTF Vintage Barbershop Aftershave: WTF Vintage Barbershop Additional Care: Stirling Alum Block Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm Good morning Gentlemen. Welcome to the start of another month of the 30DC shaves and shenanigans. This morning’s shave felt like I needed to go old school with a barbershop scent. The WTF Vintage Barbershop soap and splash combination fit the bill nicely. Coupled with the MMBT, a fantastically smooth, close and comfortable shave was the end result. I have not decided what my focus will be for the month except to continue working on reducing the den of soaps therefore I will stick the 1508.5 Random 3 formula.
Thanks Patrick. In your case , using "whatever strikes the mood" can potentially provide us with much excitement and suspense. Flannel in June? My buddy in BC has not come out of his fleece pullovers yet. I've been wearing shorts nearly all winter. It gives us something to tease each other about.
Ah, Uh.......... never once, have I uttered a word to a single soul about ‘the cherry bomb’ in the commode thing.
I could possibly have a MAYhem shave in June yet Charlie. Some of my ideas we shelved but may see light . As for flannel....its always in style . Lately it's been hot then cold then hot then cold. I haven't put the flannel away just yet . When you mentioned buddy in B.C. did you mean Jason or Gary? I'm assuming they could still be rocking the fleece.
Do you think you could hone this for me Bill? I really was looking forward to giving it a go last month
Patrick, my friend lives on Cortes Island a bit north of Jason and Gary. I don't think his weather is much colder than Kentucky, but it is definitely wetter. We've had some temperature swings here too. I'm good with short pants and a t-shirt if it's above 50. I might throw on a fleece zip-up if the wind is blowing. If it's cooler, I bring out a pair of these... Everybody that knows me laughs about it, too. I'm looking forward to your June exploits. This place would not be the same without you.
I’m not sure if that steel would take and hold an edge I’d shave with, but if I was going to try, I’d use my EdgePro Apex sharpener. It would indeed be MAYhem worthy.
Thanks Joe. I worked on it a little more tonight. Hopefully it will be better In the morning. Congrats on a year with Mad Max.
