Does anyone know if the long twisty part of a Black Beauty can be fixed? I'm on travel and had it in my suitcase in some balled up socks (for cushion) like I always have done, and some how the twisty part got some lateral pressure exerted onto it and snapped off. It came of clean like a cap almost but the twisty part is clearly broken. If anyone has experience correcting this, please let me know.
I think it's definitely repairable ....... remember Gel Super glue and 5 minute Epoxy are your friends.
I think I'll give that a go before coming up with something else. A quick search on the bay yielded a really nice one but I'm not in a hurry to drop $100 on a replacement razor when I may be able to fix the old one. Why baggage handlers, why?
What is the birth year and quarter? Maybe we can help u find a replacement. Meanwhile you can fix the one u got and that will become the travel razor moving forward while to new one remains home.
@John Beeman is there something you can do here? I see you have one but its now in the raffle. @battle.munky there is one in the raffle
And a hose clamp tightened down to hold everything in place while setting. He might even be able to press fit it back together without any epoxy doing that though that crack does to need to be mended.
If you buy enough tickets it would increase your chances of getting not only the razor for him but also the vintage puck of Williams I donated with you specifically in mind.
Damn. I had one with the exact same damage. I feel for ya, especially birth year. Hopefully all of the resources here can find you a replacement.
