Wholly Kaw SS & AS - Fougère Bouquet
Brad Sears Shave Works Disco Badger
    Rigarazor 8/8
    Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements Star Jelly

Awesome Fougère Friday shave. Seriously fun thick and slick bowl lather from the 'holy cow' shave soap using the BSSW disco brush. This is one badger knot that just plain gets it done for me no matter how I want to use it. Bowl lathering, face lathering, swirling strokes or painting strokes....it's just the bees knees. Today's razor, a Rigarazor 8/8, a super mirror polish both for the blade and the scales. The 'usual' today, with the grain for the first pass (N to S), cross the grain (in to out) for the second pass, and a final 1/2 pass for just the neck/jawline, which is done toe down, cross the gain, out to in. BBS results, one silly little red spot under the nose shadows, a skin bump/blemish I mowed over. Finished with PAA's Star Jelly, followed by a favorite fougère, originally enabled by @BaylorGator that had this fragrance in a BST (purchased backups on a BF sale, it's that nice to my nose). Super wifey approved :git:.

Another glamping/working weekend for me at a local track (a little over an hour away)....but at least Sunday's drive home is very short.

Hope everyone has the remainder of a fantastic Friday, and a nice weekend.

  6. Super nice Jim! Great angle of the Sailor. They could have just as easily named it, The Tank. Or...The Hammer (as in a reference to Thor). Very cool razor.

  7. Thanks, Gary!
    Thank you, Blair!

The 2021 Sailor has gone on a major diet compared to the previous models. I'd probably want to wear steel toe slippers when using one of those, they're huge, and I want one.

  13. Our 7th and 8th grade gym teacher was a Marine who decided to make "Marines" out of us students. As I look back, my message to him is, "We ain't old enough for that, BUDDEH. Just do regular junior high-school gym".

  15. One of the weddin' anniversary dates of my cousin and his wife was funny. They both gave each other two tickets to the same play! They thus had to scrounge around to find a couple who would take their "extra pair of tickets".

  16. Friday shave.

I used stuff that needed some attention.

Tabac mini puck, courtesy of Danny @Hembree. While the rage over the aroma of this stuff is on vacation, it really does whip up an easy, generous and slippery suds. I used it like a stick and face lathered.

Went with the small Emperor. Did a nice job.

I wanted to use a DE and found the Merkur 20c with a Feather on board. Not sure how many shaves, but it’ll go at least one more. I marked it down for 4. This was the last ‘new’ DE I bought, and only because it was on sale. My guess is that is shares geometry with the famed 34c. I like it better than the EJ D89 which many toss in the same entry level category. Not a Rocnel Sailor but I just can’t have everything.

3.5 passes, all lathered, no unlathered quick backstroking for me. My abilities with a DE gets me closer under the jawline than an open edge, but just a bit less on the cheeks. Nobody really cares anyhow, they all think I’m ‘clean shaven’.

Had the Aqua Velva ready for the overcoat just in case anybody got a Tabac whine. Smells good, my Dad always used it.

    Great weekend to all!
