Great looking Ronson Dave, cool close up images of it (despite the shedding of the brush). Why not go with a boar knot replacement to keep the handle/knot combo looking authentic? Is it a hard size to find for a boar replacement? Just a curiosity. It'll get a second nine lives with any knot you decide on! Love the images & colors Jim, great thoughts and comments too!
Thanks Blair and yes 18-20 mm needed and the smaller the ones tend to be the less quality I'm finding they have
Well, it's much more comfortable weather, at least for two or three days, so I called an audible at the Sink of Scrimmage, and switched the aftershave to Bill Neumann Signature 1907. Works fine in concert with the Gillette Foamy Menthol. The only glitch was in developing 2(ah said 2)red marks down at Cactus Nation. No blood, just the marks. Perhaps the application of the Neumann kept the blood away(I dunno, just a theory). But everywhere else was fine. One pass. I'll need some more Foamy after a few more shaves with it. Pretty Excellent(the Cactus Nation redness).
Karve with C solid bar plate. Feather blade (fresh) Frank Shaving badger brush Cella shave soap and splash Awesome shave this morning. The picture says it all. I hope everyone has a great day!
June 23rd New Improved 'Bostonian' w Wizamet (1) APShave Silvertip/ Evan's '21 30DC LE SV Desert Vetiver Thayers Fine Fresh Vetiver I've neglected the Bostonian for whatever reason and decided to give it a run for a few days. I think these Art Deco beauties are works of art, to be honest. The pic doesn't do Evan's replating work justice, either. Whipped up a stellar SV lather in an amazing scent and had 3 very nice passes. I find that this New Improved isn't as smooth as the Long Combs that replaced it a few years later, but it does just fine. I'm not perfectly smooth after 3 passes, but I wouldn't want to live on the difference. Awesome hardware and software today. Have a great day all!
Very nice, Danny. I'm thinking of maybe getting some more Karve plates- do you notice much of a difference between that C plate and some of the more aggressive plates?
Yikes! I assume that brush has already been appropriately filed under G...nothing sheds like a bad boar.
