What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Had a run with this New York Curley’s IDEAL Safety Razor Frameback. Used a Shave Forge White Horse Hair Brush with a soap made by Modern Vintage and topped off with a little homemade menthol witch hazel aftershave. Since a nice job after having a little touch up on CrOx on a paddle strop and about 50 laps afterwards on the plain leather of the paddle strop.

The only issue I have with this razor can be seen on the 2nd picture. The curve of the blade sticks out from between the scales when closed. Any ideas on how to fix this issue gentleman?

I can think of either trying to source the guard, which those scales were designed to accommodate.

Or making some much wider scales, as that has no hollowing, so thinning the wedge wouldn’t matter.
It would be cool to match it back up with the guard.

Appreciate it! I’ll see what I can do about finding a guard. On the scale part, never done it before. Making scales.

Unknown maker kamisori freshly polished and honed - details in the honing thread. I still had the Czech and Speake out, so the soap and AS got the nod this morning. The kamisori shaved like a butterknife and very close and smooth, especially on my chin which is always difficult to get perfection.

Bartmann 86 Manganese Steel also from Robert, I like those shorter wide blades. Cream was SMN and the AS Myrsol Agua Balsamica.
