  7. Not a great shave this morning. 0:50 to load the Razorock Lime Burst onto the Jayaruh(#59). Good spreading action. Almost right as I began the shave, I hit a speed bump down at Cactus Nation, just below the jawline on the left. Fortunately no blood lost, but in that I was real lucky(did I just say the same thing twice in one sentence?). I proceeded on. Another red mark developed at the upper-lip. Messed up my concentration at N. Porcupine Alley. Fine everywhere else. The administering of the Mennen Skin-Bracer helped calm things down in both places. I'm about ready to flip the Skin-Bracer, but I'll replace it. Bordering On Excellent. Will do better tomorrow.

    Blade: Astra SP (1)
    Brush: WWB Limedrop/TDR Fanchurian

    Good morning!

I don't have the Blackbird Ti yet so I decided to dust off the polished SS version. I have a few razors with both the safety bar and open comb variant of the same razor. The Blackbird is the only one that is noticeably different between the two. The SB baseplate feels quite a bit smoother to me. Just off the topcap provides a smooth easy shave. If I want more blade feel just drop the handle a little. Wonderful three passes for near BBS and nearly silent alum.

    Have a great day!

  10. Still a nice shave Paul! Unfortunately, the Islanders lost last night, but they held their own against the 2020 champs throughout this series. They had a great run.

Wonderful lather courtesy of the Valobra-manufactured AoS shave soap.
This is their unscented version and is getting difficult to find.
Luckily, yours truly, scored 5 NOS pucks recently, so I should be good for a while. ;)
I dribbled a few drops of TSD's M-Bomb (this is a product I am REALLY going to miss when it's gone)
onto the puck and went to work with the, according to my seller, who is a HUGE Simpson expert,
    one-of-a-kind
Simpson Harvard 4 fitted with a SiLVERTiP knot.

Last day with the Ranger Tech and the Wizamet SI.
Here's a question I am posing to our good friend and
    resident Wizamet aficionado, @celestino
but anyone is free to chime in:
How many shaves do you get with your blade?
My scent today is from 1978 and is the very popular...

This is the original iteration by Warner.
I scored a small (5ml) bottle of this juice on the Bay and while it is quite excellent,

the Cosmair (second iteration) surpasses it, which is rare in the world of perfumery.
I hope everyone here has a terrific weekend.

  14. Some shaves this week...

    Tuesday and Wednesday

    RazoRock Lupo DC ~ Wizamet (1, 2)
    Simpson Trafalgar T3
Heritage Hill Shave Co. ~ Washington
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Grand Bay ~ Lime Bay Rum

Many thanks to @Dave in KY for including the multiple bonus items in my TSD Raffle prize box, including the Heritage Hill Washington soap. It has a wonderful scent and provided a great lather. Dave also threw in a 10 blade pack of the Wizamet blades - excellent performance!

The RazoRock Lupo DC baseplate is new to the collection and I've tried it in a variety of combinations. I've used it four times so far. The first run I shaved half my face with the .72 OC and the other half with the .95 safety bar side. Honestly, I couldn't discern much of a difference. The next day, I shaved with the OC on pass #1 and the safety bar on the 2nd. Again, just a great shave resulted. The third day, I used the safety bar on pass #1 and the OC on pass #2. Results were the same. Finally, I used the OC on passes 1-2 and still had great results.

    Thursday and Saturday

    Razo Rock Lupo 72 ~ Wizamet (3, 4)
    CSB Badger
    Stirling ~ Sheep
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Stirling ~ Piacenza

    SOTD 06.26.2021.jpg
Shaves for Thursday and Saturday were with the Lupo .72 baseplate. I thought there would be some noticeable differences in results from the DC plate, but I don't see much, if any. Just a great shave result in the end.

If I had to point out one difference between the baseplates, I'd say that the .95 safety bar has just a slight more blade feel, but not too much. I'll probably keep the DC plate just for the sake of having a variety on hand to work with the top cap.

Oh yes, the Stirling Sheep shave soap is wonderful. Excellent lather like I had from the Electric Sheep tub that I sunk earlier this year, just without the citronella scent.
