Tuesday morning’s Grand Freeze: Stirling Mentholated Pre Shave Soap Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Astra Green day 2 Master Soap Creations Peppermint Lime SS Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill ASB Master Splash Creations Frosted Spearmint AS Splash Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick Bleu de Chanel EdP Scent wise this was a mix em and match em type of deal as well as fantastic stuff from two great artisans who really know the business. The mentholated pre shave soap from Stirling is very cooling, it’s unscented, it does a great job of cleaning my skin, softening my tough stubble, and it’s so slick. The Peppermint Lime soap has a beautiful, tangy scent, it’s tallow based so the lather works up so rich, thick, and slick, there’s a LOT of menthol in this soap, and the skincare is A1. The Glacial Lemon Chill balm’s scent is a good match for this soap, it’s so cold as well as soothing, and the Frosted Spearmint aftershave freezes as much as the Arctique from Barrister & Mann. GEMonday, June 28th 2021 Razor: Gem Jr 1912 Parade with baton handle -Mfg 1943 variant, excellent mid range, this handle, easy shave with this Jewel. Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (6) excellent blade, Very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable. Soap: Colonel Conk Bayrum- nice mild scent, excellent lather qualities IMO. Bargain for a great soap. Brush: Yaqi 24mm Moka express synthetic- Excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrub + excellent lather painter. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave: Witch hazel + Ogallala Bayrum with sandal wood. Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers =Excellent shave with my Gem Jr 1912 with baton handle + a Gem coated blade. Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(7) excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable. Soap: Colonel Conk Bayrum, great soap, great lather qualities. Very good deal for affordability & quality IMO. Brush: Yaqi Artic sky 24mm synthetic, Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrub + great lather painter. Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave: Witch hazel + Ogallala Bayrum with Sandal wood + a dollop of Nivea balm. Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my ER 1914 LLC with a coated Gem blade.
