Keep the scales. I've had some split like that before. Just remove the old pin, at the wedge, then SuperGlue the crack tight, with either clips or tape. Dont worry about getting some on the wedge, and in the hole, that will just make the fix stronger give it a week, to fully cure. Then sand and polish the rough glue areas. Then repin, just not real tight. Viola!! Easy peasy.
