A few things came in today! First, my prize from the the Raffle. $30 gift cert to Mystic waters. Thank you @Primotenore I chose the following refills Oakmoss & vetiver Lemongrass & Blue gum Sardinian Honey Michelle at mystic waters also was very generous and included some samples. Next up is the Wade & Butcher straight razor with the wooden brush. Lastily the Gillette copper plate. Which i have no idea what it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Gillette copper plate is most likely a vintage printing block used for printing ads in newspapers and magazines.
Michelle's soaps are so underrated for performance. I don't think she's changed the formula since I started out in 2014, and her soaps can still keep pace, or even beat, some of these high-priced skin food soaps on the market today. I think the only thing that holds her back is that her scents are pretty simple and they all carry a similar note that comes with her soap base.
I have 6 of her soaps now.. 2 of the 3 are really mild in scent to the point you can hardly smell them after the lather. The strongest scents i have of hers are oakmoss&vetiver ( one of my favorite scented soaps of all time ) frankincense & myrrh and yellow rose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lilac is nice, and fairly strong. I had samples of Windjammer and Sardinian Honey that I thought were solid medium strength. I have found that my most recent samples were really light at first, so I set them aside to give away. I revisited them about a week ago and I think they're a bit stronger now.
My prize from TSD Raffle 2021 arrived today! An awesome brush made & donated by @gssixgun. Reticulated Water Buffalo Horn w/Onyx Stone base & 24mm Tuxedo Synthetic knot.
Arrived today! Birth quarter and year T-4 1973 Gillette "Psycho" institutional razor as well as some NOS vintage 1960s/70s Palmolive Shaving Cup Soap (y'all know I love using vintage soaps!), Tallow + Steel Himalaya shaving soap and a pack of Iridium Super DE blades, all compliments of @Dave in KY . It's been a very long time since I've been able to add a razor to my birth year Gillette collection as there just weren't that many models for 1973, and for it to be such a special and not often obtained razor makes me even more appreciative to have it and of Dave for allowing me to be its new steward. Thank you so much Dave!
