July 3 SOTD Good afternoon gents! Straight Razor Shave #282 5/8 Dovo Special Rd Pt JR #386 Silvertip Brush Stirling 2019 LE Blood on Steel 30 DC Crew SS and AS Maggard's Alum Block Dickinson's WH Whiskers: 31 hrs It's rainy and cloudy on LI and I decided to cheer myself up with a nice shave. I picked out my best brush, the JR #386, to make a nice lather with this great Stirling scent. It has that cologne scent that just makes me feel good. I chose the Dovo Special because I have not used it in quite awhile. Prior to today's shave, I have only used it 14 times in the past 2 years almost to the day. It is an excellent and pretty razor, but I guess that I have forgotten about it. I will try to use it more often because it was my very first straight razor. Anyway, it took care of my 31 hr whiskers without any problems and there weren't any cuts, etc. The result was a near BBS shave with only two passes Finished in the usual manner ending with this nice aftershave. Late shave and shower today. Edwin Jagger DE89 Astra SP (2) Yaqi badger brush Stirling Sharp Dressed Man soap and splash Tolgo @Glondus shaved with his DE89 yesterday and inspired me to drag mine out today. Stirling soap was on par this afternoon and is just hard to beat. The Jagger was great for three smooth passes. I had forgot how great of a shaver the old Jagger was. I love the handle on this one...I think it is called the Barley handle. Finished the shave off with the matching juice. I hope everyone is have a wonderful weekend.
