  2. Is it a humid hazy day or am I seeing smoke from a moonshiners operation way up in the background?

SOTD MONDAY MORNING, JULY 5, 2021

What a beautiful morning here in the western Philly ‘burbs. The family came over yesterday for a barbecue and we watched the local fireworks together. The JT Sapele/Resin handled Omega Pro48 Boar Knot generated a mountain of lather that easily saw me through both mug and dome shaves. This morning’s mug shave featured my A. Witte Copperhead 6/8. The shave went well. Well-honed Solingen steel never disappoints. Three one-handed careful passes left me with the kind of closeness that I’ll find myself returning to during the course of the day. I do love my Eclipse Red Ring. It’s easily one of my best dome shavers, and effortlessly swept away the dome stubble with the usual two ATG passes, in the process removing the top of a bump on the left side of my noggin, easily handled with some Proraso Styptic Gel. Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme AS Balm was the icing on the cake. I feel clean and velveteen smooth.

RAZOR: Witte Copperhead 6/8 (Mug), Eclipse Red Ring (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JT Sapele/Resin Handled Omega Pro48 Boar
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme AS Balm.

  10. Boy did I overdo the Gillette Foamy Original this morning,. Too much came out, but I decided to take advantage of my error and cover my face and neck with it.Ahhh, I suppose it's better to have too MUCH than too LITTLE(although Foamy spreads real well, so if you do get the latter, maybe you can spread it around to get everywhere. Anyway, good, clean fresh shave everywhere. One Knick(at NW Porcupine, just like yesterday), no cuts. Maybe a little too much Osage to finish it off, as I could definitely get that cold sensation. It knocked out the Knick, though. :). Glad of that. Osage and Bill Neumann are real "skin food" products. My post-shave fragrance was Passion 4 Men. Outta This World Excellent.

Happy Monday Everyone. Another excellent shave with the Yates EH Plate. With the exception of the M Hybrid plate, I have really enjoyed all the Yates Plates. I am not sure I could pick a favorite. Swati and I are off to the North GA mountains. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

    Razor: H&S Co NO75LE
    Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
    Brush: Grizzly Bay PureMagic
    Pre-shave: PAA Cube
    Soap: Noble Otter Northern Elixer
    PAA Galactic Witch Hazel
    PAA Star Jelly
    AS: Noble Otter Northern Elixer

    Good morning!

I forgot about Northern Elixer when we were talking about heavily mentholated soaps. This is another face freezer that's up there with some of the coldest I've used.

I've been rotating through some of my favorite razors so naturally the NO75LE had to make an appearance. Another wonderfully smooth easy to use blade holder. Three passes for near BBS, light tickle from the alum.

    Have a great day!

AoS Peppermint~~dubl duck #4~~Boker~~Amouage Gold Man
Fifth straight shave in July and other than a terrific shave, I am sporting a 1" vertical, red line on my left cheek.

    (Awkward set down)
The AoS really woke me up with its terrific scent and cooling effect.

The Boker's scales are not particularly beautiful, but do afford an ergonomic grip.
WTG, XTG and ATG passes, including the lower neck for an excellent, smooth shave.
The house of Amouage was created in 1983 with an eye to offer westerners a middle eastern olfactory experience.

Their first offering is my chosen FOTD.
