    That sounds great that you are going to focus on that straight you won in the current raffle. Tbh, I didn't participate in the raffle this year because there was not anything that caught my eye, except the Diamondine straight. I have more than enough straights so I wanted someone to get it and I am glad it was you. Looking forward to your journey.

    My neighbour at the lake has that same Champion generator...you will enjoy it, a quality product. I got to see it up close and personal after we lost power (trees on powerline after a windstorm) for 18hrs this weekend.

    I have all the lathe parts I need...what I need to do is carve out some time to get down there.

    36 hour growth....wanted a heavier open edge for mowing the stubs. While not the thickest/heaviest straight in my little world, this Drew Dick hollow ground blade shaves much larger than it is....what does that mean? Well, it moves through heavy stubble with little effort or momentum, never skipping, and with very little audible feedback (like a 1/4 or other wedge style grind). 2.5 passes this afternoon, DFS+ results with zero skin leakage. Awesome lather from Jason's handiwork loaded with an Omega boar, one of my favorite knots. Overloaded the knot with ZM's 'the Socialite', a nicely mentholated easy to lather soap. Excellent skin feel, super slick. Followed with my usual PAA Star Jelly after shave balm, also mentholated, and followed with ZM's 'Recovery Splash' (witch hazel based). More than enough menthol for me on a Monday after a warm humid weekend in Southeast Austin. The lime/gin fragrance description is spot on, lasts for a few hours, the menthol sensation from the splash lasts about the same, but isn't too intense on the beginning.
