  1. Thank you Joe....cool and rainy here today-it may be time to dig into the back of the "bus"(den)for a cold-weather shave set or 2.

No, that's not a wild bristle protruding from my Culmak, but rather a simple reflection.
Back with a traditional straight in this month's focus.
Bit me on my right cheek today. Equal opportunity biter.

The Culmak holds a lot of water and my lather was rather loose.
Did the job, but lather was flying everywhere.
Good results and the neck was my usual, just ok.

shave 3 with the spoiler blade, employed by the brit fb oc tech/french thin handle.
the solid handle's size and weight make this razor set up nicely balanced and very nimble in the hand.a treat to play with

  19. Great shave, Dave. Give the Winner a little more time. If it doesn't work out we may work out a deal if you like.

    Take care.
  20. I'm sorry that you are having difficulty with the knot staying in the handle. Apparently silicone does not want to stick to the Delrin very well....kind of like paint on a 5 gallon bucket. You may try roughing up the knot bore with some sand paper.

I have one knot that is not even glued in but it fits tight and I have not had any problem with it coming out. I have another glued in with silicone and have had no issues with it.

Someone else on the crew had the same problem but I don't remember who.

Hopefully the new knot will fit a little tighter.

The Essence is a gorgeous razor but that price is a big hang up for me. I'm not saying it is not worth it but $350.00 is hard to swallow.
