The Colgate Mug Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #340 Two-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the C.V. Heljestrand Razor with a Heljestrand Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Cella After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

RazVite (Rockwell cap)/Feather (1). Love these razors. Fairly mild setting bit still a no problem, comfortable BBS shave. The Rockwell cap changes blade angle in a less aggressive position (and enables use of the nice Rockwell handle).

Post shave feel with MDC is not spectacular but I'm finding use of one of those Japanese charcoal soaps (like the PAA cube) applied before lather really does improve things.

My final day with this Astra Green blade - hey, two weeks is enough I would say but it stood up to my tough beard stubble very well. The Lyko cream )Thanks for introducing me to it Fernando!) is very good - it smells nice, it lathers great, it’s mildly mentholated, and it’s very soothing as well as moisturizing. The Prep and the Don Donato aftershave finished the job superbly. Smooth as silk after three swift passes!

It was a shave for the ages this morning. Two of the best Modern Adjustables Post Gillette days in the market currently. I say post as many enjoy their shaves with Gillette’s multiple offerings and quite frankly, Gillette set the standard on mass produced adjustable razors over 60 years ago with their Fatboys, Slims and Supers that the manufacturer brought to market. Also, the Gibbs Reglable is the forerunner of these two magnificent creations with a pedigree for shaving that has been unmatched for decades. That statement is no longer the case as these two imo, have dethroned the French Revolutionary as the best adjustables ever made. Take what I say with a healthy helping of salt but, these two razors surpass anything the Gillette Brand & Gibbs have ever produced in an adjustable. The other adjustable that is all USA made is the Rex Ambassador that is a finely made tool with excellent shave pedigree but, against these two it is outgunned and outclassed in shaving performance though it’s an equal in terms of craftsmanship. Downside? These razors are not cheap with one costing nearly 3 bills and the other 5 large ones and they are difficult to acquire as they are limited in short production runs and are made overseas. That’s hefty and some or many will say that’s an absurdly ridiculous amount to pay for a tool that all it does is hold a blade. Yes but, what brilliantly made blade holders these are and if one has the expendable coin to acquire one of these creations (or both), I do not hesitate an instant in recommending the best razors that your dollar can buy.
