Excellent shave Joe. How do you like the Thayers balm? Currently I am using the Nivea Cool. Meh, to me as I am waiting for the cool to kick in. I have used the Stirling Unscented Glacial which I really like. Just curious on your thoughts.
Thiers Issard 7/8 Graydog Badger Proraso Green Preshave WCS Grapefroot Duke Cannon Ice Cold Balm It’s been a rather hectic couple months ending with us moving. Our 3rd place in 3 years. For someone who hates moving, I sure do it a lot. Lol. Most of my shaves lately have been pretty utilitarian with just 2 razors and 3017ing some soaps. I killed a puck of modern Williams, a tub of Zingari Man Soloist And am working my way through WCS Grapefroot. The Gillette post war Tech and become my go to DE and I am loving the V1 Colonial General with a SS handle. Last night was my first straight shave in a while and it went pretty well. Just a small weeper on my neck that sealed up with a splash of cold water. The edge needs a touch up, as do the rest of my straights. I haven’t had time to work on any honing but in the new place I have some room to set up my work bench and get back at it.
July 12th Karve 'C' OC w Polsilver (1) Rubberset 400/Oumo flattop Castle Forbes Lime Thayers Dior Eau Sauvage AS Interrupted the Spoiler focus to have a run with the new Karve baseplates (thanks, Jim). First up was the 'C' Open Comb. This is billed as equal in aggression to the 'D' Safety Bar plate I already own. The first pass didn't feel as smooth as usual, but I did have two full days of growth to knock down. The 2nd and 3rd passes felt smoother. Results? Awesome as usual with a Karve. There is a different feel to the open comb, fwiw. I'd neglected the soap for quite some time...rectified that oversight this morning. Great product, great scent. Saw this driving back from the lake last night: We are going to pay for this past few weeks heat wave now. Bye bye clear skies. I was enabled by @b1hart to pick up a Champion generator...just a matter of time 'til we lose power out there with the fires. Have a great day all!
I hate moving too and I've done it quite a bit John. I hope you can settle in for a while and catch a break! Thanks for checking in! Nice shave Jason and hope it's a better season than expected with the fires. Good call on the generator, be safe out there!
Lol! 15/16 is more like it! However, if there was a 15/8 straight razor out there, then I wouldn't mind using it. I will go back and fix the comment.
