Sounds like a delightful Tom’d-Vette shave. @twhite I enjoyed my turn using it on the pass around. Having someone make it the daily driver is so cool.
Sharko Arko! Great theme, Dave. 2 aftershaves after using Arko seems wise... Love the SS Karve and the crown on those SV brushes is so very nice.
Seeing the Dixie Master Barber come out to play makes me realize how insensitive I was once to comment that those beautiful scales looked like a slice off one of my old bowling balls. I had to imagine how I might have felt if’n I was the one out there ‘taking a slice off the old bowling ball’ with a bread lame for a late MAYhem shave. Shame on me.
Thanks, Joe. The balm absorbs easily into the skin. The woody scent is unobtrusive, but you can't really call it unscented. I like the skin feel afterwards. It absorbs better than the Stirling, which I also have. Both are good products.
Tonight's shave: Razor: Gillette EFBT Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinum Brush: Yaqi Tuxedo Soap: Arko Aftershave: Proraso Green A virtually entirely European affair. Razor from England, Spanish beer, Russian blade, Turkish soap and Italian splash. Usual 3 pass shave (plus a few touch ups) resulted in a near BBS finish. I have come to accept that there is only one razor in my stable that is capable of achieving a true irritation free BBS. Having said that, this setup delivered a nice close shave with a bit of work! The Gillette Tech series are nice razors, but they are very mild!
It was my first vintage razpr purchase. I think it was around £25. It is a nice razor, but the MMOC has it beat! Thanks Joe!
