When this brush was released, around 2010 I believe it was, the general consensus on the shaving forums were not very kind. People didn't even own one but had all kinds of snide remarks about the "gimmick", the ridiculousness, the price, etc. For myself, I thought it was rather neat and intriguing. But at $125, it just was not something I had to have and so I never did get one. Now years later, I received one today. NOS, never used, etc. And $75 shipped definitely tastes better than $125. Pure badger! Insert 2 AAA batteries, press the button and the brush comes to life! They marketed it as oscillating but it's really vibrating. It doesn't spin. And the vibration is quite strong. Looking forward to using it and finding out first hand if the vibrating makes any difference with lathering, hair preparation, etc. A video I made is at https://youtube.com/shorts/Pb-C2ilkU7s?feature=share Unfortunately, it won't embed I'm assuming because YouTube made it a 'Short' and our forum software doesn't support links for 'Shorts'... ...and pictures:
That's what I thought as well. Finding out it doesn't rotate or spin kind of put a damper on the whole thing but I will give it a good use with an open mind. lol
I guess they thought that if electric toothbrushes were selling then an electric shaving brush would sell too? I think I'd take a pass on that one though.
A cool thing for the collection, to be sure! But I call it gimmicky, like the Stahly wind-up vibrating razor. I have one. It works. Shaves no better or noticeably different than my other fixed-head razors.
