  1. You better watch that attitude there youngster or you’re back on the NB 21 list again! :p
  2. Thanks Joseph! I am a believer in Obie’s ‘ first tier soaps & creams’ list I’ve linked several times here. Both are listed in his first tier, but I’ve not tried that ABC version, so can’t compare. It’s kind of half and half for me…..an equation of great performance but also at a great price. As several have pointed out so well before me….MdC is going to last a lot of shaves…. But so is a puck of Arko or Williams. I think there’s a real sweet $ spot right now for a lot of great artisans soaps in the $15-25 range for 5 ounces, many of which we see here almost every day. Fun times!
  3. you forgot to say "Laddy Buck"..and get off my lawn..:D:eatdrink047:

    DE Shave # 353

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: PAA Prismatic
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
Lather: Proraso Aloe and Vitamin E
    Aftershave: Stirling Sandalwood
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera

Beautiful morning in downtown Sarasota. Today is the last day of the travel shaves. Proraso is a fine cream that just works. The den reduction continues of the samples as the Stirling Sandalwood has bit the dust.

Another fine three pass shave to start the day.
Hope you have have a great day gentlemen

  18. No-Buy Pacts lead to a lack of ‘life balance’ and should be avoided.

Having the freedom to know what you want and the ability to just go buy it liberates the mind and body, because you don’t really have to.
  19. Saturday, Kentucky Freedom Shave

    • Blackland Vector
    • Feather Pro Super (2)
    • 30DC limited edition flat top by Jason
    • Stirling Suds & AS, SfH flavored

Further hardware testing from the Kentucky Shave Arsenal. I wanted to step things up with a Super today. The Supers are the thickest and widest of all AC format blades. I consider them the most wicked of the wicked sharp.

One would not think so, but 0.2mm increase in edge exposure would move the Vector shave from intuitive to use over to a challenge of skill. I think it was more difficult to find angle-pressure optimum than open edge on the same blade. If I do find myself with a Vector a Pro Super chambered up would be rare.

@Dave in KY , thank you again for the loan of this gear.

Next up will be a ProGuard.

The resultant shave was maybe a little better than a Schick Proline, but I did use much greater care on angles, pressure and skin stretching.

    More fun ahead.
