    From the Stirling website:

This scent is a delicious blend of Banana, Coconut, Rum, Frangipani, and Tangerine. Our goal was to capture the essence of this intoxicating tune and we think we've done just that.

  8. I feel the same way about the other Tatara razors. They all feel like I using a piece is art.

Happy Thursday Everyone. I decided to jump back to the RA for today's shave. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby. I did manage to nick my bottom lip. I haven't done made that mistake in a long time. Despite my error the RA proved to be smooth and efficient once more. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, JULY 29, 2021

This morning’s mug shave featured my 1840’s vintage H. Hobson Sheffield
6/8 wedge. I really enjoy hollow ground straights, particularly the double bellied hollows in which Victor Creazzi specializes. The lovely buttering toast refrain that accompanies a good hollow ground straight razor shave is part of the overall pleasure of the experience. In contrast the silence that is part and parcel of shaving with a a well-honed wedge is positively spooky. But I will say that this 180 year old girl knows her business. Three very smooth, silent passes, and your happy narrator’s mug was as smooth as his great-granddaughter’s bottom!

After a great extremely close mug shave, it was time for a 1930’s vintage Sheffield-based safety razor to knock that noggin stubble down. There’s really no better tool than the Eclipse Red Ring for the task. One of the early knob handle controlled adjustable safety razors, this little beauty never fails in its mission. After setting the head at its most efficient setting, I proceeded to lay down a rich, protective Nancy Boy lather. Two ATG passes left yours truly with a dome to match his mug! As George Peppard used to say in his ‘Hannibal Smith’ A-Team persona at the end of another successful mission, “I love it when a plan comes together!”

RAZOR: H. Hobson Wedge 6/8 (Mug), Eclipse Red Ring (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE LE Aluminum Handle with SynBad Knot #005
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature Scent
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Osage Rub and Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.

    Good morning!

Awesome shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

I think there is a difference in face feel between the 17-4 and the Titanium. Not night and day but enough to be noticed. Both wonderful razors.

Stirlings Iced soaps well not at the level of Glacial still offers a frigid menthol kick. Quite enjoyable.

    Have a great day!

  19. Classic matchup, Clint! Evan’s handle design and the RA are like hand and glove design-wise. Sorry about the the nick, but it’s reassuring when even the grand masters have an off day in this great hobby of ours! Enjoy your day, my friend! You’re inspiring me to pull out my RA for a shave in the near future!
  20. Beautiful green-themed photo, but your comment intrigued me! Is the head design the same between the two razors? If so, is it just the weight in hand difference you’re noticing? If not, then what might that difference be? We MOLC members need to spend time reflecting on such important questions! ;) Just curious! :)
