Straight Razor Honed and Stropped with Convexed gear. Fram Weiner Schaber Software flavor of the day, Stirling for Him 2019 LE brush by @jtspartan A small trim razor strikingly similar to a current offering from Böker by the same name. Honed on elliptical convexed black ark, Naniwa 12k, abrasive charged balsa progression to 0.1 micron cBN, then flat bench roo. Disclaimer: Honing in these methods is to be considered artisanal, experimental and for my personal enjoyment only. The tools to do such are unavailable and hand fashioning such gear is near impossible at best. Allegedly, engaging in such hone antics ruins perfect razors, creates frowns, and unshavable sub-par edges. There are experts who will gladly let you know who they are. Listen to them and do exactly as you are told. Rejection of the divine way or association with me will incur the full wrath of the entire Kingdom of Hone.
Thank you Jeff! My Dovo Shavette will always have a place of honor in my den because it was my very first teacher.
Bears have been known eat almost anything including their own. So far, I’ve survived a few unprovoked bear attacks.
Jusr saw the vid. The boo-boos weren't so bad. 4/8 blades are not my thing, but your razor looks nice. Have a great afternoon!
Hi guys! Although I shaved this morning, I thought that I would do a test lather with one of the samples Joe @JACarbone piffed me. I chose Soap Commander Honor. I bowl lathered it with my Barbury synthetic. I must admit it really makes a nice lather. Scent strength is mild, but that's ok because I can use any aftershave with it. I will be using this soap for my next shave tomorrow afternoon. I am off to services so have a great afternoon.
Adjustable August Unknown "Test" soap~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic~~1958 D3 Adjustable/Spoiler I was asked to test a shave soap, which arrived yesterday. I shaved with it today and will use it all this week. Looks a little airy, doesn't it? Gillette 1958 D3 Adjustable opened to (9). Thrice-used Gillette Spoiler. After 30 straight razor shaves, a DE felt quite nimble in my grasp. The lather was slick enough, but is quite unstable; disappearing too quickly. Spent the day at the state fair. Dr. Mrs. Primo's birthday. I had originally picked out Acqua di Parma Colonia as my post shave scent, however, SWMBO had a request that I wear NO scent.
Whoa, there, Maestro! Imagining you scentless took me aback! You are the sultan of scent! Hope it wasn’t too disorienting, being my normal state of affairs!
Very nice shave Joseph! Is the test soap from a well-known artisan? Happy Birthday to Dr. Mrs. Primo!
In sympatico with this month's theme. Arko but with a little menthol added to counter the heat. Janus Toggle with a Feather blade (2) delivered an excellent shave to start the workweek .

Fabulous shave and kit, Keith! Glad you’re posting again. It’s getting a bit thin around here. Two of our mainstays, Jim (@jluc) and Clint (@clint64) are considering breaks. So it’ll be nice to have one of the old mainstays returning.
MONDAY MORNING, AUGUST 2, 2021 After my fabulous shave a few days ago with my Herder Ace of Spades 15/16, I decided to touch it up on a new Italian slate Glen Mercurio recommended that’s been receiving justifiably great reviews. It imparted an incredibly sweet edge which I then refined on Howard Schecter’s 4-sided “Constroption” to excellent effect. My mug shave was delightful. MrEE’s Monster Tuxedo Synth generated the two types of lather I like for my shave, and that big honkin’ aluminum handled brush laid down a perfect MWF lather carpet that the Herder 49 swept away in three luxurious passes to the tune, “Handle With Care”, by the Traveling Wilburys, my favorite super group! I then grabbed the Gillette Fatboy to honor adjustable August, opened it up all the way for that great blade feel, and tore through that noggin stubble like Patton through Italy in two slow, careful ATG passes. I do love my Feather DE blades for my dome shaves, and the fresh one I loaded this morning did not let me down. The Rabid Banana Star Jelly completed the hat trick, and left your happy narrator porcelain smooth! RAZOR: Herder 49 Ace of Spades 11/16 (Mug), Gillette Fatboy (Dome) BLADE: Feather DE PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: MrEE Monster Tuxedo Synth SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH.
