Terrific Tuesday shaves Jeff! It is sad that a fellow shaver berates you on your gear choices. Fortunately, the shaving community is a full of wonderful, generous people. Wetshaving is a great hobby and it is supposed to be enjoyed. Don't let negative people rob your joy. Enjoy the day Jeff!

Great shave, Danny, and your advice is the secret to any great shave, even one with a safety razor! Enjoy your day, and try to stay cool, friend. I woke up to 65° F this morning. Nice and cool!

Thanks, Joe, I learned that lesson long ago. I actually feel sorry for the guy! We got to talking and it turns out he’s been unemployed for some time. I’m sending him the Gold Dollar that I just honed. I have two. They date back almost a year and a half when I was learning to hone from Glen’s (@gssixgun) and Howard Schechter’s (theperfectedge.com) videos. They are both such a tremendous resource! Howard is really my son Ben’s honing guru. He’s taken classes with him.

Nice Tech shave, Gary, as to the soap and AS, to each his own! I do like the latherability of Tabac, it’s the scent that I find hard to tolerate!

Mystery Soap #4~~Simpson CH2~~'58 Fat Boy (9)/Spoiler~~Avon Premiere Luxe Oud
I'm gonna lay it right out there...three days into
Adjustable August, and I am ready to move on.
    :scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003::scared003:

That soap you see pictured above, numbered 4, is the 2nd of two test soaps I have been asked to evaluate.
It has notes of sheep fat, lanolin, and a nuance of barnyard.
With my trusty CH2, I went at the puck, which had soaked, submerged in warm water for about 15minutes,
and "palm-lathered" until I got a reasonable amount of soap in the breach of the brush,
as well as the palm of my hand. I massaged that wooly slickness onto my beard.
Now, with the CH2 in high splay mode, I scrubbed like there was no tomorrow.
I managed to create a modicum of lather which would start to fade almost immediately.
(This is an attribute almost all seasoned wet-shavers would eschew)
The Adjustable was opened wide to setting 9 and, still going with the oft-used "Spoiler",
proved to be a rough-ish shave. The skin, while very-slick, lacked protection.
But maybe that's not all, and why I am discontinuing use, is due to the redness on my skin,
that "blotchy" look. It wasn't bad, but add in the difficulty to lather and lack of protection,
you have found a product that will not ever be used again.
The fragrance today is such a nice scent, and, for anyone who is curious as to what the original M7 by YSL
smells like, this is a must try. Nice western oud, pencil-shavings, cherry coke ambiance.
