  1. For a moment, I thought my Thowback Thursday aftershave choice was the wrong one for a cool day ahead like today(Osage Rub), but I think I'll be fine in the end. Warms up again tomorrow, and I'll have OR again. For the shave itself, all was fine once again at the cheeks, and sideburn areas(better at the latter than the last few days). Much better along Porcupine Alley, and especially down at Cactus Nation. CN has given me frustration the last few days. Still work to be done. One pass. That Osage Rub serves as great "skin food"(as does Bill Neumann, by the way). The Pierre Cardin male parfum to close out. I'll give this one a Very Excellent.
  2. For "old stuff" all we need to do is go to the drugstore(Barbasol-1919, Clubman-1830, Aqua Velva, 1917, Skin-Bracer-1931).

  3. I hope they make an aftershave out of it.

  4. LOL.....I guess that would have settled the gender of the pig. I didn't have Clubman for the trip-TSA would have flipped it away.

  5. I'm going 30 days ish on this razor, I'm so impressed by it I figure I'll just vary blades and exposure. Apparently it works even with blades I can't even find a place to buy.

    Essence by Tedelus
    Feather Professional blade (fresh).
Hembree Delrin handle with synthetic knot.
    Soap Commander Honor shave soap.
    Cremo Bourbon and Oak EdT

Very enjoyable Soap Commander this morning. I really enjoy the barbershop scent...nice, pleasant and not overpowering.

I loaded a fresh Professional blade in the Essense and went to work. I completed three passes on the neck and two on the cheeks. I did have an operator error and set down wrong under my chin and got a little blood line.....nothing major. The alum was a little warm in a few places but I'm pleased with the shave even with the mishap.

I'm really enjoying the Essence. It is an amazing razor and handles very nicely.

I finished the shave with some witch hazel and a few squirts of Bourbon and Oak.

Danny's tip for the day......TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY THE SHAVE.

I hope everyone has a terrific Thursday!
  7. Great shave, Paul! Why didn’t you use your newly arrived Arabian stink?
  8. Fabulous shave, Jeff! Great to have you posting! That is one hard-to-find razor, but then again that’s your specialty. Listen, if you ever get out to the eastern end of the state, give me a shout! We can go for a spin in the TR6, enjoy some brown foamy hops liquid or spiritus frumenti, and you can educate me further on your new razor discoveries! :)
  9. You're killing me Jeff! Now that's just another razor I've got to try to find......

You're having some great shaves with that razor Danny. Have a great day!

  13. Lovely Tedalus shave, Danny! I had a fabulous Tedalus shave myself this morning with a Feather Super! That’s going to become my regular blade for this marvelous razor! Great observation, by the way, but every now and then with newer open edge shavers it pays to quote the ‘Four Maxims of Open Edge Shaving’ from the Book of Keith(@Keithmax). And thus he spake:

“ I]. If a spouse or child or pet may burst into your shave den mid shave then put down the straight and pick up a safety razor.

II]. If you are in a hurry or a rush or late then put down the straight and pick up a safety razor.

III]. If you are not focused or just don't 'feel it' then put down the straight and pick up a safety razor.

IV]. If the razor is tugging for pulling or does not feel sharp then put down the straight and pick up a safety razor.” :)
  14. Lovely shave, Angelo! Great to have you posting again! Thanks for sharing your Rockwell Adjustable! I hope all is well with both you and your mom!
