Red Dot Fat Boy, Bic Chrome Platinum blade, shave 2


Decided to give this one a spin since I want to see if this really is nothing more than a Toggle on a Fat Boy handle. This one being used is a full restoration and nickel replate done by Razor Emporium. More on that for the next shave with a Toggle. Some background info on this razor. This was the original Fat Boy. It predates the Executive Adjustable by a few months in 1958 making it the rookie card of Fat Boy styled hande adjustable razors. It was sold between around Father's Day (June) of 1958 until around Father's Day (June) of 1959 before being replaced by the much more common standard Fat Boy. It did make a brief reappearance either in later 1960 and/or 1961 since some do exist with F4 date codes.

I set the razor to 7 on this shave. It is i.m.o. if using a 1 - 10 mild to wild scale a 7. End result close but no BBS cigar. With that said someone with less coarse hair than I have, it should get them over the BBS finish line.

Better shave than last time. Slightly less aggressive but it could be because of the different thicker cap i used. the soap is still awesome and its what im using every other day.

Prep: Warm shower / Cien Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
FatFace Ocean Escape Soap Bar.
Brush: Anbbas 24mm Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Bathhouse Spanish Fig & Nutmeg Shaving Soap.
Blade: Dorco Prime Platinum. (D1)
Razor: Parker 94r.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils. + 3 Menthol Crystals, Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Boots Freshwood ASL + Aftershave Balm.

Early morning shave.

It's been a while since i last added the Bathhouse soap to my shaving soap rotation and forgot how good of a lather this soap creates with the aid of a quick tepid water bloom....The performance is wonderful leaving a good post shave feel.
A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Boots Freshwood ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #423 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the AutoStrop A2 Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature Post Shave Balm.
