Earth to Joe, @Trigger, we have a hot one here on LI. Here is Joe dancing to the weather tht he prefers:

:eatdrink047: In all seriousness, I believe Joe is going to be very happy the next few days.

I had a wonderful three pass shave with the Twin Duck razor. The soap provided. Nice lather. The brush did a good job whipping up the lather, however, it still has a way to go to be totally broken in. The soap will have a date with the Edmund Fitzgerald on Sunday.
Hope you are staying cool gentlemen.

  2. We must be on the same frequency, Joe! I laid out my Goldedge for tomorrow’s shave! Great shave and kit! :)

  3. +1

@Paul Turner sometimes I put a couple of dime-sized spots of shave cream directly on my face with a fingertip and then face lather with a damp brush. Quick and works great. :)

  4. Absolutely beautiful shave on both count Jeff. SWMBO has informed me on numerous occasions tht I have n addiction and my collection needs to go on birth control. I always reply that I could have worse vices.
  5. You have a beautiful vintage Gillette collection and a wealth of knowledge, Gary. Always appreciate seeing your SOTD posts!

***Headshave: Same setup except the razor was Mühle R102 loaded with a Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp. Blade previously had one headshave. Didn't produce picture for the headshave because the shave was a spur of the moment thing to sink this soap.***

Both shaves went well without any incidents. After the face shave, I did sink the Mysterium Paracelsus with the headshave. It is a great soap but I did not get that many shaves out of it. In any event, this soap will be replaced with Shannon's Soaps, The Warrior LE. Right now, it is unobtainium. This will be my first foray with Shannon's soap and looking forward to it. Have a great evening guys!

  17. I really like Tabac’s lathering capabilities, Charlie, it’s that godawful stink that I find hard to bear. :):ashamed001:

  18. Lovely shave, Joe’. I admire your enjoyment of DE shavettes. I’ve never had a good shave off one! I guess that means I should focus on developing expertise with DE shavettes, but at this point in my life, it doesn’t seem worth it!

    Late shave today.

    Facon Kamisori style shavette
    Facon half DE blade (fresh)
    Soap Commander Drive shave soap
Hembree Delrin brush handle with Dscosmetics synthetic knot
American Tobacco by Andy Hilfiger cologne

The Dscosmetics synthetic knot made quick work of the Soap Commander this afternoon.

I have had this shavette for a while and finally decided give it a go today. I really enjoy the Kamisori style shavette and completed two nice passes. The alum gave very little feedback.

I'm going to try and go back to work tomorrow. It appears the fever has left me. I've had a good appetite today and my sense of smell and taste has not left me.

    Yall take care.
