Thanks, Steve! My Australian friend referred to the razor as his mutilated 8000, and was reluctant to sell it because of the clipped tail! Not an issue for me, you don’t shave with the tail! The edge seems very sweet! We’ll see tomorrow morning.:)

I’ve had these two Burrell Cutlery “Top Flights” in the back of my to do pile for a few years.

Harold and Addie Burrell started up Burrell Cutlery in 1940 and it lasted 3 generations until 2006. Addie’s maiden name was Case and she started as a teenager working the office with her family. She followed her brother Dean to start up Kinfolks and then her and Harold started Burrell.

So I had these two, with slightly different tang stamps… the very darkened one:

and the lighter one with a rotated “No.1” and different scales:

I couldn’t decide whether to attempt cold bluing, so these went in a drawer. Then last week, within hours, I was able to snag a pair for each… I felt like Steve (but with less special razors). :)

The first pair, with the darker tangs:

    And the second pair now has a No.1 & a No.2:

The backside scale disintegrated, so I have some work there. But these two new additions are in very nice condition.
    Happy hunting.
    Tom

It was a little rusty, when I got it, but it was a fast clean-up, not too deep. The razor looks like it hasn't touched a stone, and doesn't even have a real bevel set on it. My thinking is the original owner bought it, used it several times, with the factory edge. He probably didn't like the edge, or couldn't maintain it, and it was boxed up, and put away. Good for me.

Now they have arrived, two razors from and two from .
The Russian ones are 11/16” and 5/8”. The two D Miller and Sons Eddonworks Broom have a quite strange profile, 13/16” at the toe and 11-16” at the heel..

The English razors don’t look like they taper that much Hans, but looks can be deceiving. They look very similar to my Joseph Rodgers pair.

Beautiful razors, Hans! Is the steel on the Heljestrand razors similar to that on my Tornblom?

Jeff, the Steel is not that heavily hardened as the Klas T, but of highest quality of course! Heljestrand has the highest reputation from the classic razor manufacturers (according to my opinion and what most Swedish users thinks).

I’m feeling left out, I haven’t bought any new razors in a while.

I've bought some, but they haven't been restored yet, and would be embarrassing to post, in their present state. But, I've been slowing down too.

Stubbie incoming, late 1700s most likely.
