I do think August is the month to "Get Out De Glacials".

 

A very fine razor, made for France, in Germany. A smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. It was such a smooth shave, that I had to see if it was cutting correctly. It was, I just couldn't feel the hairs being cut, and almost no noise. It is a very well made razor.

A new shave set up to start the weekend...It's been a long time since i used my Ming Shi 2000s.

Following a weekly 'no guard' buzzcut with my Wahl hair clippers yesterday i decided to do another head shave this morning to reacquaint myself to the very efficient Ming Shi 2000s adjustable razor.
The Ming Shi 2000s razor alone has improved my shaving confidence and technique multitude I never thought in a million years I would use such an efficient razor for a head shave...practicing my technique has gave me the shaving confidence to do so...A very comfortable no-irritation/error-free silky smooth BBS face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing to the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Fresh Kick ASB.

My face & precious swede are feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #423 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the TNNSER Razor by Tom with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Soap/Cream:- Stirling Soap ~ Ben Franklin

Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Invite E High Potency Pure Oil (10 drops), Natural Plant Glycerin (20) & Tea Tree Oil Antiseptic (5)

This 7 AM is not giving me such good longevity so I think tomorrow morning I’ll change it. The fact that I have such a tough beard doesn’t help either but the other blade brands perform so much better. The Glacial Strawberry Lemonade soap has a beautiful scent - definitely the strawberry dominates, the lather is fabulous, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the skincare is perfect. The Glacial Unscented balm is awesome, and the Glacial Strawberry Lemonade aftershave has that gorgeous scent as the soap and the freeze from it is heavenly to me. It’s a fluke that I ended up so BBS this morning but I had to really work at it.

Today’s shave reminds me of Matt Hilton. I bought Catie’s Vintage soap after one of his interesting write ups. This was my first use of the soap and his comments were spot on. The scent has an almost mechanical oily component that hits you initially that blends into a woodsy musk. I was not able to get the splash when I bought the soap, but noticed it in Catie’s inventory last night. I may have to pick it up. Nevertheless the shave was very enjoyable and left me baby smooth.

 

Extremely cool.
