I could have shaved tomorrow, but I am going to see a Christian band at Jones Beach this evening so I want to look nice.
I bloomed my soap to get a preshave and it gave me a nice proto-lather. I had enough to do a first pass, but I needed to do a better lather. RazorRock never fails to give me an exceptional lather and the scent is wonderful ala Cella.
Two passes gave me a BBS shave. I got a tiny, pinpoint weep on the stache, but it was really a nothing burger. Finished with the Old Spice to end this refreshing shave. I will be putting on the Schulton cologne before I leave thanks to our Marine recruit, Myles Wilson. In case you are wondering, his last hurdle to be considered a Marine is the 54 hr Crucible event. They have to ration 2.5 ready-to-made meals and they only get 4 hrs of rest each night for the 2+ days out in the field. It ends on Sept 11. How fitting! He graduates on Sept 24. Let's keep him in prayer. Have a great evening guys!

  11. Adjustable August

    Parker Variant (5, 3.5, 1, 0.0)
    Sharp Star (3)
    Derby Lemon Cream
    Stirling Tuxedo brush
    Fine Accoutraments bowl
    Stirling Citron Splash

When I commit to shaving with an adjustable in August, I deliver…….
    …….at least once anyhow.

The razor I used on my initial 30DC rule the Parker Variant. I stuck with a setting of 2, ‘then’. I know why many folks usually run adjustable tool wide open, but if I’m gonna use an adjustable, I’m gonna adjust. First wide open then down from there. It was fun trying to stay on optimum angle and not add pressure on the low settings.

Derby Lemon has all the glorious stank luxury of lemon pledge, but is an effective shave lube. Somebody even tried to put their coffee cup on me. Speaking of which, I better head to the kitchen an try out that coffee flavored pudding I made.

Bowl and brush sloshed the suds masterfully.

Stirling Glacial Citron is a nice citrus blend but doesn’t out-stank Satsuma or the unobtainium Glacial Lemony Orange.

Got them to machine the part I smashed at work last week back into true by illustrating how a 2hr setup could go 13 man hrs easy enough. Machine shop had it done in less than 2hrs and $200. Duh! Well there goes some of that shave gear OT. Runs good now. No more magnets on the feed end.

    Good day y’all.

    Shavette Shave # 143

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Tedalus Essence
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T2 Sovereign Synthetic
Lather: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
Aftershave: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
    Additional Care:l
    Stirling Alum Block
    Nivea Cool Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Today I went back to the Tedalus Essence. I removed the Feather and load a half GSB blade. I was curious to see if the DE would out perform the Feather. The verdict goes to the GSB.
I did my customary three pass shave. The Simpson Trafalgar easily whipped up the PAA Bay Rum soap. Appropriate for National Bay Rum Day.
The Tedalus Essence is a pleasure to hold and maneuver around the face. I received an extremely close and comfortable shave without any incidents or delayed crimson weepers.

Hope you have a great day gentlemen.
  19. Thanks Gary!
