Early morning shave.

The Haslinger Schafmilch shaving soap is another good performing nice mild fragranced lanolin wool fat shaving soap which my mature skin loves and creates an acceptable lather in a short space of time which doesn't dissipate or dry out on your face in between passes leaving a superb post shave feel.

A Enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Sensitive Cooling PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

The scent on this one is starting to grow on me. It's not something that I liked at first but there is an addictive quality to this scent that is hard to explain. I enjoy it. To me it smells like Sour, Wet, Metal & Earth. The art on the products and the scent seem to fit. It's like an over-grown, decaying/abandoned industrial site that is being rained on.

So this is a razor set I acquired recently and as it was inbound was told by Greg and Jim that it would need blade modifications and he explained you need to remove the Spine from a Gem Single Edge blade and then shorten the blade before getting it into the spine again. That gave me the direction I needed and was all set as mine was coming with an original blade for size comparison. So here's the comparison in size and the metal snips I used. And the final product to shave with.




The shave was very mild to me. More so than the Star and Gems I've been using but gave a good close shave. My preference would still be the Star Super Six razor and the ones in that bunch. Just the right amount of blade feel to find the angle better that this one was lacking. None the less it was a great shave from another cool piece of by gone days. The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #425 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick Repeating Razor C with a Schick Proline Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Wow, was this ever a delightful shave and the scent filled my bathroom. The soap lathers beautifully, the menthol sensation is of medium strength, and the postshave feeling is comfortable. The Prep really needs no description, and the Frosted Spearmint aftershave has the same lovely scent as the soap and it freezes like Siberia in midwinter. No way could I be any smoother!

ASRazor shave, Tue, Aug 24th 2021

Razor: Everready 1924(AKA Shovel head),Mfg1924-33, great mid range, ER Steamline strop handle, loads from back.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(4) Excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable.
Soap: Razorock Irish Countryside, mild scent, excellent lather qualities, great pricing.
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow brown whiskers 26mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard face.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Emperor (Creed Aventis knockoff?)with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea Balm with HA.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=excellent shave with my Everready 1924 + a coated Gem blade.
