I have today off. Slept in. Doing an afternoon bath and shave with my favorite bay rum scent. Since I've been working from home I took 3 days off from shaving. So, I have 3 days of growth to mow down. Put in a fresh Astra Green and about to go eliminate the stubbles.

**EDIT - Great shave. I deployed the scuttle with heated water. Very comforting to have hot lather. It only took 1 pass and a minor clean up. The Stainless Steel Ascension with the Astra blade made quick work of the tough scruff. Well, I did do a quarter turn loosening the razor, which increases aggression. I was nevertheless shocked after the first pass at just how good a job was done. This is what wet shaving is all about. A total luxury shave.

Gillette new improved, Gillette Silver Blue, shave 1


Decide to give some extra blades I have lying around a try. First impression the blade is smooth but not overly sharp. It is nowhere near as sharp as a Bic or Feather blade making this from a normally aggressive razor to a much smoother shave. I can easily get a BBS finish with minimal effort using a Bic but with this blade it took more work but it did get there though barely.

 

Back to the D with a NOS Dutch Schick blade. Normally these “dog’s danglies” are the smoothest, best shaving blades you can find. Tonight, though, the blade was a bit sharp. Super close shave but not the sweet feel I usually get from this lovely D. Lovely scent from the Trafalgar

My most recent blades I’ve been using are Feathers. I’ve recently started using a blade twice so up next are GSB’s . It will be interesting to see how much extra effort is needed to get the same results that I do with Feather blades.

I got this soap on a trade with @Tedolph and I’m glad I did. It has a nice exotic cologne scent. It sort of reminds me of AOS Sandalwood which happens to be one of my favorite scents. The soap performs great and a little goes a long way. It seems to me that this soap likes to drink and drink and drink. Its easily going to be a favorite. The razor is an amazing little guy and he’s a little cutie.

Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Ach Brito Mogno Shaving Soap.
Blade: Personna Gem PTFE. ( D1)
Razor: Ever-Ready 1912. (US)
Face: wtg,atg,+pick ups.
Head: wtg,xtg,atg+pick ups.

Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face & Head Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Cien Sensitive ASB./Blue Stratos EdT.

Face & Head Shave.

A new shave set up to start the weekend.....Starting my SEptember with the Ever Ready 1912 (US) which was my first introduction to the wonderful world of vintage Ever Ready SE razors...Throughout the month i intend to add a mixture of SE & DE razors to my SOTD set ups.

All of my Ever Ready vintage SE razors are a pleasure to shave with, once you've adjusted to the required shaving angle training your mind to use good shaving technique these vintage ladies will reward you with some sublime shaves...The solid design of these razors & the thickness of the Gem PTFE blade give them great rigidity keeping blade chatter under control which is wonderful especially for head shaving.

A enjoyable close comfortable BBS face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a few small squirts of Blue Stratos EdT to the pulse points....My face and precious swede are both feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.
