    SEptember 12,13,14th

I've had three really nice days with the Yaqi Katana. I think the secret with this razor is not to snap the blade in half, but rather to cut it and then trim the 'inside' corners a bit. Anything out of perfectly flat won't sit completely perfectly and can chatter.
The first two days were with one half of a Nacet, today and tomorrow will be with the other half.
Still keeping the 'S' theme going- Soap Commander, Stirling and SV for a software choice every day.

Sorry you didn’t enjoy the OC version of the Hawk, Dale. I ended up the same way with a PAL Injectomatic a few years ago…

    DE Shave # 357

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Fatip Grande Open Comb
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Lather: Williams Mug Soap
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Minimalist shave this morning as the hospital requires no scents and lotions. Therefore, a modified Williams Wednesday shave fits the bill. I am clean shave and sitting in the hospital prep room already for the procedure.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Great to see you posting again, Jason! I’ve your great photos and recaps. Hope all is well with your school superintending. Yours truly caught the Delta Variant in CA on a recent trip. Fortunately, after three virus jabs, it felt only like a bad cold.

Oh, YOU were the guy!!!! :). Actually, I was going to go back to rating them, as since I stopped I was getting numerous cuts(some bad). I don't think I'm enjoying them any more than I did prior to the change. I'll keep up with not rating them and see if I can get a streak of great shaves going.

This morning' shave had two differences from that of yesterday:

    Brush-Crown King(Spindle Duro Tali)
    A.S.-A&E "Chase The Dragon"

I'm glad knowing that the aftershave is just that-I thought it was a cologne. I just sprayed some onto my hand and slapped it over my face and neck, kinda like that ad about Mennen Skin Bracer where he slaps his face and neck and says "Thanks......I needed that". I may have "slapped" too much on..will go easier with it next time. I detect kind of a wood/vanilla mix. Anyway, a minute to load the soap onto the brush..good first pass, but got a Knick on the second, this time down at South Porcupine Alley.Good job everywhere else. Next time around with this duo, I'll have to cut back on how much I spray onto my hand. Another of the "A Little Goes A Long Way" persuasions.

SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 15, 2021

I recently picked up this little French frameback 6/8. RT&Ce is marked on the frame with LeCoultre N. 2 marked on the removable blade which on arrival showed little if any hone wear. The blade is removable through a slotted screw at the toe end of the spine. These razors were quite popular in France between 1850-60 according to the frameback collector I bought it from who mounted the fresh blade.

A quick run on the Chosera 1k set the bevel which was then finished on the 5k and 12k. For the purpose of overkill, I then took it to the 9 Ball Slate with some Smith’s honing oil, and finished by burnishing the edge to a mirror-like sheen on the Jasper under water until I got good stiction. Then to the Constroption and the Roo-skin strop. The blade passed the styrofoam peanut test all along the edge.

The three pass mug shave checked all the boxes. Incredibly smooth passes resulted in a glassine result. This is one of those shaves my hand will be returning to touch throughout the day. I really like this little razor. It’s a definitely a keeper. My faithful Rex Ambassador performed beautifully as usual as well, leaving my noggin porcelain smooth.

RAZOR: RT&Ce LeCoultre 6/8 Frameback (Mug), Rex Ambassador (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute with 26mm Manchurian White Badger Ferrule
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Canoe EdT and Krampert’s Frostbite AS.
