H&S N075 SS/Kai (3)/MDC. Relaxing Sunday shave, took it slow as befits a fairly mild razor with great results, the tiny bit of additional exposure of the Kai may have helped, ditto loosening the handle slightly for the cleanup pass [IMG]

Thanks, Jeff! I appreciate it. I don't have to be in bed, but I chose to do so because I want my reserves to tamp down on this bug. I will do a safety razor shave this afternoon. Presently, I don't need to handle a straight or a shavette.

Glad you enjoyed the H&S No75, Jeff. I sold mine as part of a den reduction. It’s a decent shaver, but didn’t check all the boxes for me.

I'm trying to approach my own den reduction in a way that gives razors their best chance, thus this was the best shave to date with the H&S. I'll probably stick with it with the Kai based on today's shave. The Colonial probably won't make the cut.

Slippery and kinda awkward shape. Usable mind you but not a point in favor.

Looks nice though. I could see the hourglass shape being a pain to grip.

    OCtober shave #2
    20211003_201034_remastered.jpg

    Razor: MMOC
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Brush: Yaqi Tuxedo
    Soap: Arko
    Aftershave: Proraso Green

Another shave in the books with this excellent combination. This was the last outing for this particular blade... No idea how many shaves were on it, but it was definitely more than 5.

    Enjoy your shaves gents!

Very nice shave, James! I bet you had at least 10 shaves with that blade.

    Good afternoon guys!

    Schick E-3 Injector
    Schick blade (1)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's WH
    Beard Growth: 29 hrs

I decided that with a 101.1 F temp that I was going to use my Schick Injector instead of one of my open blade razors. Why take a chance on yielding a straight or a shavette when you are not 100% ?

I put in a new blade because the last blade was dull. I had a headshave with it the other day and it was uncomfortable, despite getting cue ball results. At first, I could not inject the blade because there must have been dried soap that locked the blade in the razor. I decided to rinse the razor under hot water, but it still would not budge. Alas, I took a towel and covered the injector mechanism so that I can push hard to dislodge the blade and replace it with a new one. I believe in safety and wanted to protect my hands un case I slipped and the ejected blade bites me.

Surprisingly, I did a 3 pass shave with touchups which I don't usually do on a fresh blade. Needless to say, the shave went off without a hitch. Did my usual postshave routine and I feel better despite my low grade fever. Have a great evening!

They do tend to last a while. I've heard some huge numbers, but my coarse whiskers put a stop to getting too many shaves out of a single blade!:angry019:

Wonderful shave, Joe. Sorry to hear that your temperature isn't back to normal levels yet. Good to hear that the shave still managed to make you feel a little better - a shave not improving things really would be a worry! :D

I'm lucky to get five shaves with my course beard . Every now and then I would get a ringer and get maybe nine- ten from it. When I used disposables or cartridge razors it was one and done . Four bucks a shave with carts .

Thanks, James! I just went out for the first time today to get some fast food. I did not feel like cooking. Getting something down significantly was a good thing. If I had nausea and could not keep anything down, including water, then I would have cause for concern.
