Testing out the new non-tallow Tabac today, it’s quite good, I actually prefer it over the old tallow version based on the scent and the better slickness. Razor was the old reliable Sub Cero and the AS was also Tabac. A Simpsons Tulip 2 did the lathering.

Went with an old Sheffield, all I can make is “…RT Son & Co.” Brush: Shavemac Suds: Oleo Soapworks Smoke On The Water I love this big Sheffield’s look and shave. My version of the Sunday shaver, a Heljestrand M.K. ‘31-1/2’, an M.K. 32 with moderate hone wear and some corrective honing. It shaves perfectly of course, and this razor’s condition always amazes me. The M.K. series in ivory were not made after 1939, so this razor is quite old as well as having seen considerable use. But so surprisingly, there was no tarnish, patina, rust, or pitting! Whoever wore the edge down loved the razor enough to care for it properly, it was obviously perfectly cleaned after every use. Soap was tallow Tabac lathered with a Tulip 2, and a splash of Myrsol AB finished up a great Sunday morning shave.
