Superb shave
The new formula is a keeper. The lather is very thick, with loads of residual slickness. The balm is very nice as well. The scent starts out with strong coffee for me, then dries down to a coffee shop with leather seats sort of thing. I like it.

Fernando’s soaps are South African diamonds - his Frosted Bay Rum has such a gorgeous scent, the tallow formula gives it such great lather with so much slickness, there’s plenty of menthol in it, and the skincare is A1. The Prep’s scent seems to go so well with any bay rum scented soap not to mention how moisturizing, cooling, and soothing it is while the Pinaud Bay Rum aftershave stung me a bit but then it felt so cooling and wonderful - its scent is so old school and delightful. What a brilliant BBS shave this was!

After a 14 hour work day yesterday, I had to be back in early today. Cold shower to wake me up followed by a tap cold water shave. Two passes for a close comfortable shave. If I would have added a little buffing along the jaw line, it would have elevated the results to an almost entire BBS shave.

SOTD WOOL FAT FRIDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 22, 2021

The shave this morning featured two razors I’ve been neglecting lately. The Simmons hardware 4/8 is a great little mug shaver that my new touch up regimen has really brought to life. The razor is about 120 yrs old, and had been a satisfactory shaver. Just out of curiousity, I ran it across the Swaty hone instead of the Naniwa 12k for its touchup, and I was very pleasantly surprised.

Following the Swaty came the four sided constroption, 10 strokes per side. The resulting shave was far better than any earlier shaves with this razor. Two passes left me incredibly smooth. The third and final pass focused only on my troublesome neck whiskers on either side of the Adam’s Apple which my flatblading technique smoothed right out.

The Ever Ready Streamline is the one Gem bladed razor I can always count on. My noggin shaves with this little beauty never fail to please. Of course, the wonderful MWF lather spread by the MrEE LE Knurled Aluminum Handle #007 Hybrid knot that provided the slick shave surface definitely enhanced the process. Two ATG feather light passes left yours truly velveteen smooth from noggin to shoulders.

PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil

Razor: Yaqi V2 Excalibur, Mfg 2021, Excellent tame mid range daily driver, great design and feel, enjoyable & entry level razor for some folks. One of my favorite SE razors. Hard to cut yourself IMO. Lay a wash cloth when installing blade for ease.
Blade : Schick Proline 50mm P30(4) sharp & smooth, still testing longevity?
Soap: Speick, nice mild spicy soap, excellent lather qualities, triple milled.
Brush: Yaqi Chianti's 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser+ a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion balm + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Yaqi V2 Excalibur with a Schick Proline blade.
