Well, we are in the final week of OCtober, and I have shaved with a different open combed razor each day and this week will be no different. The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #41 2-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem MMOC with No Bumps with a Personna GEM SS PTFE gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This was going to be my shave of the week BUT I didn't like it. The Col Conk lathered easily and has a very nice scent. The Burma Shave boar is one of my favorites and worked very well. But when applying the razor/blade to face, the whole thing sucked. Not sure which part failed. Going to try with a different razor/blade tomorrow to see if it's the SC or what. Another report tomorrow.

Oh my God am I ever frozen to the max - my brother Fernando whipped up a menthol lover’s dream come true when he made this hyper mentholated version of Citrus Melody. The regular version is also damned cold but this one is absolutely so lethal that it kicks the other big boys like the Stirling Glacials and the Chiseled Face Cryogen in their butts. The scent is the same - a gorgeous blend of lemon, lime, orange and perhaps grapefruit, the lather does require a bit of effort to get it right but once you do it’s great, the slickness is certainly there, the menthol effect beats the crap out of you, and the skincare is perfect. The Prep moisturizes my skin so well, it’s so soothing as well as cooling, not to mention how frigid the Citrus Melody aftershave is. I can’t believe how BBS I ended up - what a shave!

First shave this morning since Thursday evening and it was a quickie. No blood and no irritation confirmed by the alum block.

2 passes and close enough to get out the door.

Razor: Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf, Peerless model- Mfg 1945, excellent mid range, of the 3 Micromatics I enjoy this one the most it seems. I usually get a great shave.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(9) excellent very sharp blade, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable.
Soap: Razorock Don Marco, nice citrus scent with excellent lather qualities. Experimenting with the water mister for improved lather.
Brush: Yaqi Viper 24mm boar brush- Excellent lather generator, spit end soft tips + nice scrubber & good lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera Gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Italian barber Amici + witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion balm + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Gem Peerless MMCP + coated Gem blade.

Wonderful shave today, from a trusted razor, and a manufacturer, that is on my top 5 list.

Razor- F.W.Engels. No model name.
Brush- Vie-Long, Horse Hair knot. It's a short knot, which gives it some well needed backbone. Very nice brush.
Soap- ARKO. Or, what is left of it.
Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

 

Gary I really like the presentation but that 1939 is on another level. It looks incredible!

Prep: Warm shower:/Nivea Men Power Fresh Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
FatFace Ocean Escape Soap Bar.
Brush: Semogue 1305.
Face Lather.
Lather: Ach Brito Mogno Shaving Soap.
Blade: Parker Premium Platinum. ( D3)
Razor: Parker 99r.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezings, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Denim Original ASL./ Nivea Men Fresh Kick ASB.

Early morning shave.

It's been a while since i last added the Ach Brito Mongo to my soap rotation. Using my damp Semogue 1305 it created a wonderful slick protective lather in a short space of time with no issues of drying out or dissipating inbetween each pass leaving a wonderful post shave feel.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Nivea Men Fresh Kick ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.
