    ****SPOILER ALERT to Soap Testers****

Today I decided to use just one of the soaps as I would normally. They are the same except for 1 with Lanolin and 1 with Shea Butter. Not sure which I had but to me, they were nearly if not identical in yesterday's shave that I don't think it would matter. Had a great shave and went with a low structure lather that was wet and SLICK. Post shave feel with nothing is VERY nice, soft and supple ! I will try again tomorrow with this method of loading the brush but again with a synthetic and see if I can get a thicker structure while maintaining hydration and slickness. The Ronson was a great close shave now that I feel it afterwards. I think the injector blade may not be my favorite that I had loaded in it and will need to try another shave with my preferred Injector blade. I don't care for the shave angle it requires to hold the razor at but you can't complain with results like I received.....................................YES I can [IMG] GREAT shave but I would take either of my Shake Sharps over the Ronson ANY day. Still a cool piece of history built to last multiple lifetimes. Have a great day everyone !!

SOTD MONDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 23, 2021

Woke up to a cold, rain, 39° November day. Yours truly had a bit of a “Come to Jesus” meeting last night with my 19 year old grandson, Kevin, who arrived as scheduled last night for his house-sitting duty. He will be alone here today and tomorrow, until the rest of the clan arrives tomorrow evening. Last year he and a friend polished off half a fifth of 25 year old Macallan. I’ve locked as much of my good bourbons and single malt whiskies away in the gun safe, but I was unable to fit a few bottles of Oban along with some RedBreast and Green Spot. Hopefully, I impressed upon the young man the importance of leaving G-Pop’s good booze alone. We’ll see!

Had an otherwise uneventful shave this morning. My Tanifuji Airi 11/16 with its wonderful imported Swedish silver steel blade apparently spent most of its life in a Japanese barbershop. It was obviously well cared for, and the first of my four Japanese razors to be acquired. It arrived with a well-crafted, though dull bevel. My son had recommended this particular razor to me, and ran it through his jnat progression upon arrival. The 9Ball slate in conjunction with my constroption have maintained that great edge which delivered its usual exemplary two and a half pass ultra smooth mug shave this morning..

The dome shave featured one of my two AC safety razors, the Blackland Vector. This particular safety razor design was the result of continual incremental design improvements that started with Classic Shaving’s Cobra AC and was followed by a series of popular designs like the Mongoose AC and Colonial Razor’s first generation General model. But the Vector’s hyper-slim head design, one barely larger than the AC blades it was designed to house, shook things up. The razor felt much more maneuverable than its predecessors and delivered remarkably close shaves, particularly when loaded with a Feather Super AC blade, as it was this morning, leaving your happy narrator velveteen smooth from dome to shoulders.

RAZOR: Tanifuji Airi 11/16 (Mug), Blackland Vector (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather Super AC (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme AS Balm.

Day 22 of 3D Printed Razor Month

The TSD Iced Lemongrass Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh 287 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Darwin-Stoll Jr. 3D Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Stirling Mentholated Pre Shave Soap
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Super Speed/Minora day 13
    MSC Peppermint Lime SS
    Prep ASB
    MSC Peppermint Lime AS Splash
    Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
    Bleu de Chanel Parfum

Wow, this was a great Grand Freeze from Fernando’s awesome Peppermint Lime soap and aftershave. The scent is dominated by the lime but there’s still a nice peppermint presence, the soap lathers so thick and rich, the tallow formula gives it lots of slickness, the menthol sensation is plenty strong, and the skincare is perfect like from every other soap this wonderful gentleman makes. The Prep delivered such great moisturizing and soothing along with a good additional cooling effect, and the Peppermint Lime aftershave froze me to the max - its delightful scent doesn’t clash with my Bleu de Chanel and because it’s witch hazel based there’s no burning or stinging. The Minora blade is still alive and kicking - it helped me get another super duper BBS shave!

Have a good week - be well and safe!
