Stirling Barbership was calling my name. It is not a typical barbershop scent. It has like a vanilla/ cookie scent to my nose. It is not too sweet, but it has other notes to round it out. Unfortunately, Stirling wants to keep the notes a secret because they are not specified on their site. The Bergamont/Lavender is like a sophisticated Lavender scent to me and that would have been my second choice.

Well the five samples total 5 oz which is less than a regular 5.8 Stirling tub. I burn out a tub on avg 4 months which is about 100 to 120 shaves per tub. So, if I just used the samples for the next four months of shaves, then they would be gone. It really is less than a full tub of Stirling. However, I get to experience 5 different scents without buying full tubs. I will have experienced 16 different Stirling soaps once I use each of the 5 samples. That's a pretty good representation of what Stirling offers.

I agree. Like I have mentioned many times, Andrew @Linuxguile turned me on to them when he piffed me Sandpiper and Sandalwood in my early days on this thread. Didn't care for Sandpiper and Sandalwood was nice, but it wasn't a wow for me. So, it will be 17, not 16 Stirling soaps that I will have experienced because I forgot about Sandpiper. That just shows you how much I didn't like it. LOL!

I use the trim on the labels to determine the color theme. The green tubs help identify that it's a Stirling soap. I just have to look at the side label to pick out the specific scent. I think the design is well planned.

Razor: Martens HDW Co. 11/16” Kingwood scales
Brush: Shore Shave Player 26 mm
Lather: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos (1508.5 Project)
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Wonderful straight razor shave this morning. The blade easily took care of the 24 hour growth leaving my face smooth and irritation free.

I am continuing with my 1508.5 Project of this soap. The boar brush whipped up a nice lather and the soap offered a wonderful glissade for the razor to do its job.

I will continue with the wet/dry sanding of a second blade, the Genco Register, with the 1000 grip paper. Below is a picture of the blade following the 800 grit paper.

Blade is still showing some patina. Hopefully it will diminish as I progress with the various levels of paper. Additionally, while looking through a loud I noticed a slight chip in the edge that I will eventually has to address. Learning as I go so to speak. :yoda

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Very nice shave Joe. I would assume that with these restorations that you would have to reset the bevel anyway.

After being MIA for a few months, I decided it's time to post a SOTD update for December.

December's shaves have a very christmasy theme, with the sanga symphony tallow soap having a frankensence and myrrh scent. I decided to add a nice South African glacial soap, kameelperd's kick into the rotation because summer has officially arrived, and the temperatures are rapidly rising.

There's nothing like the cold sensation of menthol on a hot summers day!

Aftershaves- Revlon pub and status for men
Razor- Gillette 1948 aristocrat (barber pole handle with rhodium plating).
    Brush- Yaqi black marble plissoft
Soaps- bundubeard Sanga symphony and bundubeard kameelperds kick.
Blade- schick triple coated DE blades.[IMG]

Hey Matt good to hear from you! Hope you are well and that you are doing great in school. You have a very nice setup and pic. I have the Stirling Frankincense and Myrrh and I am not to keen on it. Have a great day!
