This scent is very sensual with notes of leather, vanilla, and powder up front. It is perfect for day or night. All together, it has top notes of green tea, bergamot, and rose, a woody middle of sandalwood, cedar, and jasmine, and a base of leather, vanilla, amber, musk, and oakmoss. Inspired by Bvlgari Black

Yep, there's a lot going on in this. It's a nice blending of everything together and pleasant albeit a little light to me but there none the less. Typical great and copious was whipped from the Fluffy Industries Copper with the Maggards Badger/Boar mix knot. This thing feels so soft I question whether there is boar in it but I remember when I first got it and felt all the prickliness of it. so glad I kept at it and added it to this Special to me handle.

There had been talk of the Micromatic and using an Injector blade which I've read before but haven't done myself. In the name of science I did this morning and got a gloriously smooth shave. I may be off my rocker......................well that's a given but it felt smooth to me than the Gem SS. Nice option for the MM I'll remember. Have a terrific day everyone !

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #423 Two-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Christy Razor with a Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My brother Fernando produces some of the BEST soaps that I ever had the pleasure of using - this Chieftain has a scent that blows me away - it’s an exact copy of Hugo Boss Bottled. The tallow formula gives the lather such thickness, richness, and slickness, and the postshave feeling is fabulous. The Nivea Sensitive balm delivered a wonderful soothing feeling with lots of moisturizing, and the English Leather aftershave went on with a bit of a sting but then it felt cool and comfortable - the scent is great also. The Minora blade is retired after two weeks of faithful service - it gave me one last hoorah with a terrific BBS shave!

After being MIA for a few months, I decided it's time to post a SOTD update for December.

December's shaves have a very christmasy theme, with the sanga symphony tallow soap having a frankensence and myrrh scent. I decided to add a nice South African glacial soap, kameelperd's kick into the rotation because summer has officially arrived, and the temperatures are rapidly rising.

There's nothing like the cold sensation of menthol on a hot summers day!

Aftershaves- Revlon pub and status for men
Razor- Gillette 1948 aristocrat (barber pole handle with rhodium plating).
Brush- Yaqi black marble plissoft
Soaps- bundubeard Sanga symphony and bundubeard kameelperds kick.
Blade- schick triple coated DE blades.

ASRazor shave, Tue Dec7th 2021

Razor: Gem Micromatic or MMOC, Mfg 1930-41, best design for rigidity Gem put into a razor(rack & pinion), midrange, excellent razor to use when blade count gets high IMO.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(10) excellent blade, Very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore, nice vanilla mild Tabaco scent scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 22 mm 2band badger, excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, designed to scrub with short loft + great painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Santa Marie del Fiore AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion(balm) + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my MMOC with a coated Gem blade.

That revamped vintage lather brush is great looking.

 

That's a super cool, mostly original looking Clown Fruit set. I am going to try to squeeze in some more PAA scents before the end of this year.

 

Where is Ram57? I haven't seen him post all December so far. His shaving pics/sets have always been top shelf.
