What Manly Things Did You Do Today?

I replaced the broken flapper chain on the upstairs toilet. My husband told me it was broken and no doubt, planned to fix it after a trip to the hardware store. I, however, remembered that we keep a spare flapper chain for just such situations.

 

A couple years back my sister had a pipe burst in her basement from a window being left open. So just prior to the basement being demo'd she had me look over it to see if I wanted to salvage anything. Along with a shelf I picked up for my son I saw a wooden box fixed to the wall used as a storage. It was a Union Explosive Company crate soiled and battered. So after some work prying, banging and pulling; I freed it from its captivity from a damp basement wall and brought it home with me. It sat for quite some time unsure of its fate, but recently I needed a catch for our small kitchen that has very limited storage. I set to work with a little soap, warm water and a rag to clean off the surface dirt, but save the age and patina of this crate. Today, after it's had thoroughly dried I applied teak oil to very thirsty wood.

Got out the leaf-blower & put on the mulching attachment. I was able to mulch up a couple of tubs of mulch, needed to store my outdoor bonsai over the winter.

 

The Rocking Cradle is almost ready, the only thing that is missing is a “Mobile” with small cute animals hanging over the cradle.

The cupboard in the background have I made in high school 35 years ago ( age 18 ).

Bought one last time I went to Lowe’s.

 

Tasting the Christmas Beer that I brewed 2 months ago. 45 litres or 12 Imperial Gallons, should be enough for Christmas Evening

Honestly, a lot of it will be given to friends. It is spiced with:
Cardamom
Cinnamon
Seville Orange
Star Anise
And it is one of the best I have made.

Plowing Snow with my little Tractor, it’s a Agria 4800 from mid 60’s. Works perfectly well with an air cooled Hatz 10 HP.
It weighs 80 Stones but it’s allowed to pull 314 Stones with it..
