Merry Christmas, SOTD, Saturday, December 25th 2021

Razor: Gillette E4 Fatboy, Mfg 1959, well built adjustable to last generations for $1.95 US, gets the job done well and very enjoyable razor to use. Some blade tab overhang.
Blade: Gillette Silver blue(1) Excellent blade, sharp & smoooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap: Razorock lavender, nice masculine scent with excellent scent.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm 2 band badger with Barber pole ergonomic handle. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, great scrubber + great painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizer lotion(balm)+ scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 Nick-olas (operator error)= excellent shave with my Gillette Fatboy with a GSB.

Prep: Warm shower:/Asda Sea Salt & Fennel Extract 2 in1 Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap with Mint Extracts.
Brush: Lider Turkish Boar.
Face Lather.
Lather: Derby Shaving Soap bowl.
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome.(D2)
Razor: Lord L125.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Osmanli Lemon Eau De Cologne./Wilko Fruits Lemon & Black Pepper Body Butter.

( Boxing Day Shave)

Maiden shave with the Derby Shaving Soap Bowl which was one of the few small Christmas presents i ordered for myself as it's been a while since i last purchased anything shaving related....Like it's shave stick sibling the soap bowl produces great lather in a short space of time....The soap residual slickness & protection are excellent equal to the shave stick if not better for it's lather density IMHO.....The scent of both the Derby & Arko soaps is something i personally don't mind to my sense of smell it's just a 'clean pleasant soap/lemon scent' which like the vast majority of shaving soaps with a few rules to the exception the scent vanishes after i have done my cold water face.

All in all it's a good acceptable shaving soap which i look forward to using again in my future shaves...As always opinions are very subjective, especially when it comes to Turkish shaving soap scents.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable boxing day shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Wilko Fruits Lemon & Black Pepper Body Butter.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine...After a few domestic duties i will continue to get some well earned rest.

MSC Frosted Spearmint AS Spray

A potent Grand Freeze this morning - perhaps not so much from the Frosted Spearmint soap although it’s pretty cold in its own right. The scent is so delightful and it fills the bathroom, the tallow formula promotes such fantastic lather with lots of slickness, the menthol sensation is not overwhelming like the Stirling Glacial Spearmint but as I said - it’s still colder than cold enough, and the skincare is perfect. The Glacial Spearmint balm has the same lovely scent as the Frosted Spearmint, it’s so moisturizing, soothing, and icy cold, while the Frosted Spearmint aftershave’s scent lasts for a long time and it’s so FRIGID. Three passes sufficed for an absolutely perfect BBS shave!

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #395 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the C.V. Heljestrand Lather Catcher Razor with a Heljestrand Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Florida Water Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
